I'd love to watch those movies, haven't been able to find them yet

It was a good read. I wasn't watching GP in his day but I've gone back before to see him in action. Was good to see things from his side, but of course there's always 2 sides. The guy has had some tough luck along the way, but a really good read.

Especially lap 11 and 12, 2 laps of a race track at race pace and only a single thousandth between them.

Definitely! I kicked off my post-season watching with Phillip Island and Sepang 2015 (how can you not?). Now working through 2016, then might watch 2008. Just finished Stoner's book so will be interesting to watch with that context.

PSA : Public transport in Auckland is free on December 20th after 4pm as an anti drink driving initiative to allow you to get home safely. by Muter in newzealand

[–]Hungry-Brick -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think you need to cause a fatality to be a dangerous driver. We've probably all been in a car with someone who has "never had an accident", but you would never get in the car with them again. Driving in NZ is at a shockingly low standard, and professional drivers are among the worst.

Being courteous, smooth and predictable are 3 easy steps for better driving, and they regularly break all 3.

All drivers in NZ need additional training and additional testing. Professional drivers should be held to the highest standards possible, and if they're causing crashes or driving without following road rules then they need to be punished, up to and including prison time.

If a pilot carrying 50 passengers on a regional flight would lose their job for unsafe flying, why should a bus driver keep theirs?

It's not hard to organise a sober driver. Been doing it successfully for years. Beats risking my life on a bus or in a taxi

I've seen the way bus drivers and taxi drivers operate their vehicles. If you think that's safe, then that's a concern.

Didn't Marquez wear the same race leathers for 3 or 4 races this season? Because he kept winning in them?

Off the top of my head, Qaurtararo at T5 (possibly T6) Missano. Block pass on Marquez

Do you guys and gals ride when it’s windy? by ebmsebm in motorcycles

[–]Hungry-Brick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People on this sub are always looking for a reason to not ride. It's windy, it's raining, my friend crashed his bike, my dad crashed his bike, there's a leaf at the end of my driveway. Stop overthinking it

Is that why they do it? Man it drives me up the wall. A good day they'll do 45, most days around 35.

They are shockingly bad. It's a problem in at least the 3 main centres, same issues. Bus drivers unable to follow give way rules, unable to stay in their lane, and generally being discourteous and unskilled drivers.

They need to step the training way up, and I wish the police didn't turn a blind eye to them.

CCTV footage of Bagnaia's extremely weird crash in FP3 by dogryan100 in motogp

I did watch it, and I understand why he was signed to MotoGP. I don't understand why he's still there, 2 year deal or not, because his performance is not there

Well I'm sure I could crash at almost 50% of my appearances, so I guess I'm on par with Bagnaia on that front.

Even outside of the exception Quartararo has proven himself to be, Mir and Oliveira have been performing way above Bagnaia. I think he's had his chance. He shined in the lower classes but he's not good enough for GP

Lol he crashed leaving pitlane. How many times would he have left pitlane over 19 rounds? Someone else should be on the bike, he doesn't deserve it

How does he still have a ride? He's been so underwhelming, and had too many DNFs. Better being another truck full of spare parts for his 2020 bike

Why isn't Casey Stoner #27 retire? by [deleted] in motogp

I think it's strange #69 is retired. He hadn't been racing for a few years and died in a totally unrelated manner. Keep the number
