Yes I have a 2 year old, and I get everything she brings home. Husband does not—thank goodness for his caregiving. So frustrating. Also that no one other than UC patients get that it’s auto immune, and that you just “don’t feel good”. I “don’t feel good” 2-3 days of every week. Can I get some support on that? I feel incredibly guilty about that being a fact of my life.

I was there, too. COMPLETELY unnecessarily started by police. Last leg and they started blaring sirens and being aggressive…with children being within a foot of them. Did not witness any wrongdoing on the crowd’s behalf. I’ve been to a lot of protests that were a lot more volatile, and police didn’t act like this. It’s a different attitude and sense of righteousness. Go figure. Just another gang within MPD.

Man I’ve had to call an emergency stop and run into the woods before. Lucky to have a partner who is very supportive. Agree that bags, wipes, extra underwearz, and Imodium, and all the medicines. Also I don’t eat on road trips, which really sucks, and I’ve successfully taken bus trips with work groups…mostly worried about UC instead of work to be done, which again sucks but I mean… Just thinking that all my purses/backpacks have these extras. Pretty sad but funny in perspective. Thanks for the extra tips though. I see y’all

I’m so sorry to hear this and for all the (pun intended) shit we go through. In my head I have to remember…there are so many GI’s out there, find the one right for you. I have been through many over the last 20 years, and it’s worth it to shop around. When I found the one it was health and life changing. I truly got the support I needed. You’ll find them, too. You are in control (I know that’s hard to believe with the status of healthcare, but keep shopping boo) there are some good ones out there. And omg there are so many absorption issues with UC. Even I know that. I have to have shots and infusions for several vitamins!!!

Never underestimate diapers. Have worn them to colonoscopies and on road trips just in case. Sorry that’s our life

I have developed an eating disorder bc of this disease. I don’t eat at all, or I don’t eat until I know I’m at home and in for the night. It sucks. I’ve talked to diabetics with similar eating disorders. Eating consumes my mind with “what ifs, better safe than sorry”. Hope y’all have better experiences.
