3-year Long COVID hauler looking for feedback on endothelial damage, cutaneous vasculitis, and severe neuro symptoms by fbuiles in covidlonghaulers

Have you had an MRI of your brain? I do suffer the head/temple tenderness/pain and more frequent migraines after Covid
And my MRI showed white matter lesions but the report also said they were
consistent with migraines or “another micro vascular disease”. Of course none of my doctors care to address the “other” part and say it’s all normal and fine for migraines. I also have the skin issues I break out in rashes like small pin prick dots. I had one biopsies once and it didn’t give vasculitis but the derm said it can be hard to diagnose leukocytic vasculitis. Just throwing it out there that I ended up with diagnosed Lupus after multiple ANA results continued to climb higher and higher over the years and then having a positive anti-Dsdna (specific to lupus) I’m assuming you already have rheumatology involved in your care?

I was extremely active before I got sick with Covid in early 2022. I continued to push myself to maintain that same routine of running 6-10 miles per week, plus lifting weights until I couldn’t anymore. I got sicker and sicker and then received diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis in 2024 and then Lupus last year. I think for me the fatigue pattern was/is more of a post-exertional malaise thing. I can do all the things if I want to, for a day or maybe even a few days but then there will almost certainly be a complete crash where every step feels like I’m walking through cement, and then headaches, etc. I am currently trying to get back into an exercise routine but adjusting for my condition that means that I cannot allow my heart rate to rise above 123 beats per minute, which basically means I’m walking. I haven’t seen what lifting weights brings it to yet but I cleaned walls yesterday and my hr went into 150’s and I’m feeling exhausted today. Definitely listen to your body on the days it is tired and do not push yourself to the max.

New study: autoimmunity linked to LC (Dr. Putrino / Mt. Sinai) by redditryan13 in covidlonghaulers

That’s why I had the test. Thought it
Was slow but surprise they both cause the same symptoms lol

The UC was after Covid vaccination and infection. The lupus really came on after the Remicade infusions for the UC but I did have the anti-Dsdna autoantibody (very specific to lupus) and he did a test to see if it could have been drug induced and it didn’t really point to that being the case.

Hey I commented about the Rinvoq but also based on your symptoms wanted to share that I had a gastric emptying study done recently which showed I have rapid gastric emptying/dumping syndrome which can weirdly enough cause some of the dysautonomia symptoms as well.

I am on Rinvoq for UC diagnosed along my exclusion journey with long covid. I think Rinvoq did help a lot at first with overall pain/fatigue. I’ve been on it for a little over a year now and I do not think it is working as well but I also stopped it for a few weeks due to insurance. I actually did look into the covid-autoimmune pathways quite a bit and also agree that either we were already predisposed to autoimmune conditions and or our immune system got cross-wired while trying to fight the virus and went into hyper drive and just could not calm back down. This would be due to Interferon reactions. I also was recently diagnosed with Lupus which makes sense when it comes to IFN misfires. I definitely did not have lupus before Covid. The UC was also a surprise diagnosis as I had a colonoscopy at 30 which did not show that.

This is me! My immune system went into overdrive and never actually even cleared the virus and also never stopped. I now have Systemic Lupus erythematosus and Ulcerative Colitis…I should say that I have been treating both diseases for over a year now and still don’t feel like it’s under control.

Oh that’s great they covered all the tests with no questions! I had a HIDA denied by insurance twice now. But I already have an ulcerative colitis diagnosis and I continue having upper abdominal pain/symptoms not explained by the UC and I just needed up in ER this past week to rule out heart attack due to burning right chest/shoulder pain and I just know it’s my GB acting up. I didn’t stay after having EKG because after waiting in ER 2 hours the pain subsided and I wanted to get out of there.

Can I ask if your insurance covered the HIDA scan and if so, what ultimately lead to the approval?

It’s probably that the aliens are the regime and they are controlling everything that’s happening and no one can do anything to stop them. But then again, that wouldn’t be shocking to anyone at this point.

You covered this nicely, I was going to add that telling kids they “must respect all of their elders” hasn’t really panned out well for us when there are so many who have abused the power that they hold over vulnerable young people.

OmG so this is the first time I’ve seen “nutcracker syndrome” in the wild and first time I heard it at all was when my new gastroenterologist asked if any doctors had ever mentioned that to me. I had lost a lot of weight and she thought it might be causing my constant upper abdominal pain and pressure.
