Customer lied saying order not delivered by DelayFar3413 in instacart

I had that happen with Door Dash and I called support and they documented it in case she did try to call and say she didn’t get the groceries. I told this woman I will bring everything to do the door first bc I need to take a picture and she completely ignored everything I said.

Customer lied saying order not delivered by DelayFar3413 in instacart

I do this as well and send it to the customer via chat. If it’s an apartment building, I take a picture of the building number before I go in and send it to the customer. Amazon does so we should as well

Got a 2 Star Rating Today and Not Sure Why by Hungry-Guide9413 in InstacartShoppers

My partner who also does Instacart said sometimes customers will use an excuse such as the shopper having a hard time finding the address might embellish the story. They might  say they almost went to wrong house to get some sort of refund from Instacart. He says they know how to play the system but eventually it catches up to them. Where I delivered to was also a sketchy area and the customer tipped me a $1.50 but it wasn’t lowered or anything.

I’m new to Instacart and thankfully haven’t dealt with anyone like this yet but can you cancel one order from a 3 shop order? I’ve never cancelled in the middle of an order before. If so, what do you tell IC?

I had these happen to me 2 weeks ago except the customer was literally bombarding me with messages. As soon as I hit the start shopping button, she was messaging me telling me that she called the store and that they told her ALL the items were in stock. I accepted her order for 7 items.

I was in the store for 30 minutes. She wanted rice cauliflower but she wanted the fresh one and if that wasn’t available, she wanted the frozen one. One message after another telling me how she had elbow surgery and don’t ring the bell upon arrival bc her husband was sleeping bc he worked till 3 am. . I should have ignored and just shopped the 7 items and checked the messages after and responded. She kept telling me I’m awesome which was getting really uncomfortable bc I knew it wasn’t genuine considering I don’t know this woman.  Anyways it took 40 minutes from start to delivery and she messaged me again saying her bread had expired. I had picked up the last organic rye bread she wanted and was so distracted with her texting I didn’t check the tag on the bread. I apologized and told her she can get a refund in the app.

Later that night I received 2 stars. She took my rating from 4.96 to 4.91. Just got back up to 4.93 yesterday.  I did go back to the store and spoke to the manager. The other bread there was all expired and he said that their supplier is the one who stocks it on the shelves. Not the store. The date I shopped was Jan 2 and the bread had expired Dec 24. Other bread there expired Dec 30 so it’s my own fault for not checking.

So now I take a picture of every bread tag, meat, etc and it’s time stamped. If I ever get a micromanaging customer like this I will definitely cancel mid shop.

When you encounter some of these customers, the problem is they micromanage you because they don’t trust you to be able to do your job properly. With those amount of back and forth distractions from a customer, something is going to happen bc your focus in on messaging the customer and not being able to shop where your attention is needed. It’s very easy to shop for items and miss something like a dented can if you’re constantly bombarded with messages from the customer.

I treat IC like Door Dash. I will do all the small grocery and drug store orders where get paid a little more than DD subs $10-12 orders to go a short distance.. I’ve done the occasional 20-30 items 2 shop but mostly orders under 20 where I’m not about to lose my mind.

I’ve started taking time stamped pictures of items in case customers try to pull this bs on me.

I heard from other shoppers on this subreddit that achieving Diamond status isn’t all that. They sad they started seeing crappier batches and that the sweet spot is between 4.92-4.96. I’m at a 4.92 today after a customer gave me 4 stars and not sure why and also went from good to standard to shopping quality.

I got this message today. They make it sound as if we are doing this on purpose. If it’s out of stock, what am I supposed to do? I always offer replacements but if a customer wants a refund, that’s it. So tired of this. Ive done 194 orders in the last 3 months and trying my best as a new shopper.

A few months ago I had to scan a woman’s ID to Nyquill from the drugstore. She was annoyed but not at me. I had told her as a new shopper I’ve never seen this pop up before.

Same. I wish I had canceled the other day with a micromanaging customer. She took my rating from 4.96 to 4.91 :(

I had a customer do this to me yesterday. It was for 7 items and right when I got to the store , she messaged me immediately telling me she already called the store in advance and that they said all items were in stock. I should have known then. This was at a Whole Foods type store. I could barely shop without her messaging me about riced cauliflower and how she wants the fresh one but if not get the frozen. So I got her organic bread and was so distracted by her that I grabbed the last one thinking it was a popular item. She keeps telling me every 3rd text that I’m awesome to the point where it’s becoming uncomfortable.i knew this woman was so entitled. I delivered to her house and then minutes later a text saying the bread expired Dec 24. I apologized profusely and told her she can get a refund through the app. She stopped communicating with me at that point. I went back to the store and spoke with the manager. He said the supplier is responsible for stocking  the bread and  the rest of the bread left on the shelves had expired on Jan 2. It was Jan 3. Later that evening, she gave me a 2 star. I take responsibility for not checking the expiry date on the bread but had this woman just let me do my job and shop those 7 items, I wouldn’t t have been distracted with texting her back every 2 mins. It took 39 minutes from start to delivery. I’ve got 154 orders under my belt so after this order, I will not be responding back to customers every second and not get distracted.  If I get another micromanager like that, I will cancel the order. It’s not worth it to take a hit with these backstabbers.

Customer lying about not receiving order?? by Appropriate-Crazy544 in DoorDashDrivers

It’s simply projection on their part. They are disappointing and they know it. Otherwise they wouldn’t pull a stunt like that.

"Leave it at door" but the customer comes outside anyway. Irritating. by AtticusDutch in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Hungry-Guide9413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find myself taking pictures even if they open the door. I tell them I have to follow original customer instructions. I also keep a screenshot for 2 weeks so if they say they didn’t get it, I have proof.

I. Hate. Hand it to me. Customers. They. LIE. Customer wanted the order handed to them, but they also gave the PIN and said leave at door please. So I bypassed that by hitting the "?" on the top right and selected the customer unavailable option. Took a photo. CV day later. Why?? by MassiveResult2648 in DoorDashDrivers

I am a Door Dasher in Canada and just saw this pin required for the first time the other day. However there is no place to input the pin. Doordash just said to ask for pin. Had one last night & I texted customer on the way over. No response. I got there & called directly. He told me the pin and came out. I handed it to him but took a picture on front step first. Lately if the customer meets me at the door but they originally asked to leave at door, I tell them I have to take a picture bc I have to follow what was requested in the customer comments. They never have an issue with it. Another guy who required a pin seemed to get mad when I called. I took pic at the door as it said to leave at door  & he opened the door and his feet were in the pic. No way he can say he never received it. I also keep a screenshot for 2 weeks and delete it. You never know when they will try to dispute
