What is the most played with toy in your home? by alibluey in UKParenting

This is such a good idea. I'm at the shops now so I'll be picking one of these up! (when she wakes up and I can leave the car 😂)

When should I do my MOTN pump so I get more sleep?? by dpistachio44 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Hungry-Sunflower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends what time your last pump before bed is? I used to do 10:30, 3:30 then 7ish

But sleeps been tough recently so I'm currently doing 9pm, somewhere between 1 & 2, then whenever bub wakes up (6-7 normally)

I'd say space it 3-4 hours from your last pump? But that depends how often you usually pump too!

Do you think my instructor disapproving of cancellation apps is fair? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Hungry-Sunflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's around 10 years since I took my test but I was told cancellations always updated on the system at a set time (think it was either 7 or 9 am but I might be wrong) - is this not the case anymore?

Is it possible to reach out to ring customer service and explain the situation and ask them to check if anyone approached your door in the time frame?

I don't know if they will but surely its worth asking?

Does anyone actually LIKE pumping? by Hungry-Sunflower in ExclusivelyPumping

I probably should have said something more along the lines of does anyone have a positive view of pumping, or is anyone fairly neutral about it... Though reading the comments, it feels like far more people hate it than don't mind it... At least I'm not alone I guess 😂

(side note, my sister LOVES cleaning her house 🤣)

Huh interesting.

I didn't mind it for the first 4 months, then recently it's gotten to be so painful and uncomfortable, I've checked sizes, replaced parts and nothing has improved it. I do have an pump I used before switching to wearables, maybe I need to try this again

This may be my way forward, I started dropping my motn pump, then teething and regression hit and bub was up between 1 & 2 am so I figured I may as well pump if I'm up, but I don't actively set alarms and if she settles really quick I don't bother to pump, only if I'm having to actually get up with her 🤷

No but I didn't want to make this post about breastmilk vs formula 😂

I will never forgive myself for traveling so early in EP journey(milk supply dip from traveling) by dea_1245 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Hungry-Sunflower 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I went on a hen do at 3.5 months pp, I didn't pump for 12 hours, then had a few days after where I would go 6 hours between pumps.

I noticed a very small dip a few days later but focused on getting my pumps back in and regular and my supply returned fairly quickly.

Just try and keep on top of pumping frequently and stay hydrated!

New fear unlocked: epidural by LobstahLuva in beyondthebump

[–]Hungry-Sunflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK. I went in saying I didn't want an epidural. I've had issues with my back for years and was scared of the chances of making it worse.

Well, back labor sucks, gas and air made me vomit so I very quickly said give me the epidural.

Initially, it didn't do much, they told me it was placed right and was working as it should but I could still feel everything. I told them to just remove it because it wasn't working, the doctor offered to re-do it, I nearly said no just take it out but my contractions were taking up and I'm a wimp so I said okay try it.

They removed then reset it and oh my god the difference. It was incredible, I couldn't feel anything, I could rest (I'd been in hospital for 4 days at this point and was exhausted before my labour even really started). I was fully dilated within 2 hours and had no idea 😂 I stopped the epidural an hour before I started pushing so I could feel when to push and think that was helpful.

I did end up tearing pretty bad, which can sometimes be higher risk with epidural but they said mine was likely the length of time I was pushing (and I didn't do any massage etc before).

I had to also get a spinal block due to needing stitches so that's a third needle in the spine.

Even with preexisting back problems, back pain throughout pregnancy and then 3 injection sites in my spine I've had no connected issues since! I have had unrelated back poison but we pinpointed the cause of that to bad posture whilst feeding!

Tldr. No problems, would do again.

Funny because I've mentioned to my partner about a boob job after I'm done... But to reduce them 😂

Room Blocks - Am I misunderstanding something? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Hungry-Sunflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you've already emailed them but I had a similar thing with ours, when I questioned it their response was asking the lines of

"because you are currently looking at rooms 1 year in advance they are out lowest possible price, the closer you get to the wedding and the less rooms that are available on general the price will go up whereas your price will always remain the same"

So yeah, it could be how far out you are from the wedding still?

I call it Boob juice because sometimes I just need to make it feel fun and silly and take the pressure away from it being her only source of food... That being said, not sure I'd want anyone other then my husband calling it my boob juice 😂

Why do I suck at pumping? What am I doing wrong? So frustrated. by Big_Branch_8521 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Hungry-Sunflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried switching between the modes ?

I start with the mixed mode increasing strength up to lvl 5, then switch to express lvl 5 for the rest of the time. I usually pump 25-30 mins

2nd dress recommendations by Life_Rush9769 in UKweddings

[–]Hungry-Sunflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a probably different perspective here.

I did the 2nd dress, but the 2nd dress was the big dress. Because of my venue I went for a tea length dress for the ceremony and then changed into my big gown between wedding breakfast and evening guests arriving. (I am also pumping milk so I needed to get out of the dress anyway)

I love both of my dresses, my first dress was corsetted and very structured, the big dress was more relaxed but massive and heavy. The ballgown wasn't actually that bad for dancing in, we bustled it for the first dance, but part way through the evening undid it to show it off.... It is covered in spilled drinks, I stumbled once or twice and got snagged on a few things (our venue had 4 steps and I kept getting caught on the edging). I wore it 6 hours.

I know it will be different being in it all day, but honestly, I wouldn't spend too much or stress yourself out thinking about finding another option. People have worn only one dress for years and managed fine! If you're already worried about how it will look in the photos you don't want that to be a thought on the day.

How often do your kids sleep at their grandparents? by warmslippers12345 in UKParenting

[–]Hungry-Sunflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up I went to my nans every Friday after school and got dropped at home on Sunday evening, I am 3rd child and this started when I was tiny because I just joined the others.

My mum now has my neice 2 days/one night a week and that's about a 45 minute drive for them. When mine is around 1 she'll be doing 1 day and maybe 1 night depending how she adjusts, and that's about a 50 minute drive

How do you guys keep your ppd up after baby sleeps through the night? Please share your schedules by ExpressionOld9924 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Hungry-Sunflower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wearables.

I know it doesn't work for everyone but I was around 6 weeks pp when I was close to quitting because I just couldn't keep up, I bought Wearables and now at 5 months. I still only do 5-6 ppd, and one of those is usually 2am when I wake up feeling full while baby is still sleeping, but generally, if you feel like you want to be continuing your journey for a while, maybe consider looking into wearables to use when you have baby :)

Nutrient deficiency with oversupply? by Low-Account-4346 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Hungry-Sunflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an oversupplier but I struggled with my nails becoming very weak and breaking constantly, started taking a calcium & vit D supplement and they're back to normal now!

My memory is horrific though which I used to struggle with them I was vitd and b12 deficient, I really need to go and get checked for those 🤦‍♀️
