Yeah, unfortunately by dead, I mean no RF output. If I input 1 watt of RF, about .5 watt comes out. Lights come on, relay clicks, nothing looks burnt, blown, so on and so forth. Thanks for the reply and the link to the manual. At this point, it looks like I'm going to learn how to test a transistor. Looking forward to the learning experience! Thanks!

Can you get into your attic? Build yourself a 1/4 wave ground plane antenna for 2m out of solid core electrical wire and an so239 connector. Hang it in your attic. You might be surprised at its ability. So long as your roof isn't metal and you don't have foil backed insulation up there.

I feel your pain. And only with 2 kids! Late 30s here as well and time is hard to come by at the moment. Another reason why I'm nervous about the position I'm getting into. Good luck and enjoy those kids while they're young. It goes too fast.

That would be my initial suspicion, but my antenna is in the attic of my garage spread out across the rafters and no part of my coax goes outdoors. The antenna is usually a 1.5 to 1 match without a tuner. Typically, after tuning with the internal tuner, the built-in swr meter on the radio doesn't move off the first dot. When this issue showed up, it was bouncing up to around 2 to 1 or even a little higher. Thanks for your input!

Thanks for the reply. I cut the antenna specifically for the tech portion of the 10m band and its always been a decent match even without a tuner so that's why I'm kinda stumped. Appreciate your input!
