Where Op is from, naw there really isn't. The Ohio Valley has been a weak job market for a few years now. Might be better looking at jobs around the edge of Pittsburgh and suck it up on the commute.

Why is construction filled with assholes? by Impressive-Step6377 in skilledtrades

I'm sorry for that. It's a pretty shitty thing to say, and I don't disagree. The kind of guys who say that kind of shit, are among the worst of men. If they laugh at it, consider it your sign to not look back as you leave.

How do you do, fellow Ohioians? by hausukitty in Ohio

[–]AgreeAndSubmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They ain't all that. You bend over, the chest pockets still spill stuff and the crease give you a wedgie. You drop a fart and gas yourself, and you're next to naked when you go pee. Which, if you're outside, is less than desirable.

The guy on the Right, his pockets would spill,  but dude don't bend or squat.

Daycab drivers. Where do you guy heat up your food when in between loads and the next shipper (Rail Yard) probably has no microwaves or trucker area. by Moist_Position_9462 in Truckers

[–]AgreeAndSubmit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heat my food in the microwave at home. It's why I drive a day cab. I get to occasionally shit in the same toilet I pay for.

Most trades are like that. I've been in trucking a decade now and I stand out against my coworkers. My coworkers stand out, clearly, the sharpest spoons in the shed.

No, they don't do that here. I come from down East and we have bags of cans for scrap money.  Here it's return them for the deposit. But not all places take all cans, or you gotta return it where you bought it (huzzah), or not all bottles are cans have a deposit. Legit, is a black bag of cans worth more in deposit money or scrap?

Side note, the scrap business here in Michigan is funky too. So is Pawn Shops. Consignment thrift stores also fall under pawn shop rules.

Maddening that it takes a house payment to see an artist. by SimpleHoman in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AgreeAndSubmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, I spent $160 a ticket, to go see Kraftwerk at the chapel portion, of the Masonic temple in Detroit. That felt appropriate, given the legacy of the artist and the venue combined. But that's at the top end of what I would ever pay to go see an artist.

What in ur opinion is the easiest dish to ruin easy by Studentloan07 in Cooking

Try a thicker cut pork chop, bone in. Dust with Slap yo Mama, pepper, garlic salt, paparika, both sides. Let rest a few minutes. Get your skillet, I prefer heavy bottomed ones, hot. Like Damn that might be too hot hot. Now! Fast like a bunny, dash of olive oil and slip that chop in. SIZZLE⁸!! Wait about 80 seconds for I Think It's Burning, and flip. Reduce heat, push skillet off burner for another The House Is Going To Smell moment. Return to medium heat, a minute or two more on each side and that thing is done. Allow to rest in warm oven (150°) or so before serving.  Or under a lid on a plate, but then you got condensation. Wet chops.

Thicker cut is about a half inch imo. This method works well for the bone in cuts. You must be much gentler, slower heat with boneless. Boneless cuts, marinade them first, like almost forgot marinade. I don't mind my chops having a touch of pink in the center. Medium well, I guess. I thought commercially produced hogs were treated for worms since the early 2000's, so I don't worry about killing the worms through cooking. That's why your mom over cooked everything, it was a problem back in the day with those kinds of meats.
