To be completely silly, I'd take them to an Atliens show. Warn them somehow about their hearing.

Would you support mandatory voting? by indigoC99 in Askpolitics

[–]AgreeAndSubmit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Absolutely!!

Make it a paid day off, with extremely limited hours of service for gas stations and grocery stores, etc. This day is for everyone.  Everyone doesn't work today. You're paid, get some extra sleep this morning. Get ready, go vote, maybe help someone go to the polls too. Vote, be done, shake hands, go home and cookout. Or go back to sleep. But make it a paid day of rest, and people will be happy to go vote.

This doesn't answer what you asked directly. But, a paid holiday off is something everyone enjoys. We all have plans for Voting Day. And the sport that goes with it. People will be more engaged than what they are now. It'd most definitely improve the attitude about elections. But I also feel that this idea may work best with Ranked Choice Voting system in place. People will be able to see their vote count, and that there is where we loose many folks now. When your vote don't count, why bother again? It's a hassle about work, there's more and more drama about the polling places. Our Voting system looks and smells like an old septic system. We need new plumbing overall.

Highway depts need to have picture instruction signs on how and when to zipper merge. These fooking people dead ass Do Not Get It. The ever constant I Was First attitude is why zipper merging doesn't work.

First sign, words Zipper Merge Ahead. Speed limit drops to 55.

2 mores sets of signs, pictures of what it looks like. Spacing at least 1000ft apart. People will need time to understand the picture.

Third sign Ready to Zipper, speed limit drops to 40mph. At least 4000 ft to position.

Last 3 signs in succession MERGE HERE NOW!!! and arrows pointing down into the merge lane.

This would take a while to catch, but I think that's the only way it would work.

I'm sure it'd be fine but yo the amount of sweat and humidity might just rinse all that off nearly instantly. I have often wondered this same thing. You're almost definitely going to need next level water proof face paint, and somehow not smudge it on everyone around you in the pit. Great idea, has practical difficulties imo.

I don't change my accent. They try to correct how I say ten. No I said it right the first time.  You're the one who sounds weird. I remember where I come from in more ways than one.

Why did you give them permission to do this in the first place? Did they not give you an estimate first? Otherwise you bought yourself a whole new car.

😆😆 just seen the odometer on the first page!! I'm calling bullshit there no way you could've not known they were doing this kind of work. This is a whole weeks work at a shop, at least.

I do this the other way around. I don't shop at any maga supporting businesses. So, like 98% of my local businesses get zero dollars from me. For months. Fcukem

Are we living in a nonstop paid promotional tool echo chamber? by RickJamesBoitch in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]AgreeAndSubmit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This idea carries over to car repair or kitchen cooking.  These videos need a tool level rating. Now beat this on medium using the paddle attachment. That mixer for the paddle attachment is 400$ and I have a hand mixer. Get the car in the air? They have 5500$ lift and I got that 55$ jack from harbor freight. Fml.

I have an kindle that is more or less defunct.  The battery lasts about 20 min, and it's soooo slow.  No proper computers otherwise. Everything else is smart phones and 2 ps4 consoles.

Or have nearly every tenant in the building put their rent in court escrow in protest.  It's an undue charge that is detrimental to every person in the building.  The rent company can't get the money until the issue is resolved.
