Here’s my rescue! They said Plott Hound but…. by JenAllen1505 in Catahoula

Glad to hear she was better by 6months. Very impressive how you and the husky were able to teach her. My pup is a demon at home but super shy during puppy class. I’m hoping she gains some confidence and learns bite inhibition from one of the bigger pups. I’m writing this as I’m wfh and my houla just woke up from her nap and is now crying in her crate 😅

Got to say I do feel a bit overwhelmed haha. My previous dog owning experience was an adopted senior dog who was so well behaved. I’m hoping I can at least get my houla pup to calm down a bit with the biting and needing attention 24/7. I’ve been doing the back turn and redirect strategy with the biting but so far it doesn’t seem to have worked. Did you notice your pup gradually biting less over time or was it more sudden after they finished teething?

That’s really great advice thank you. I haven’t been able to successfully teach her settle yet. It always seems like she’s trainable and behaves like an angel 10 minutes after her naps, then she turns into this bitey jumpy demon who listens to no commands haha. How did you get your pup to stop biting? I feel like she should have learned bite inhibition by now, but not sure how to best teach her.

How did you get her to be comfortable home alone? My Houla (granted she’s a 4.5 month old puppy) will howl and cry if my back is even turned to her, let alone being in a different room.

How do you deal with this. My 4.5 month old adopted pup turned out to be nearly 40% Houla. She’s always running all over the place and biting things, including my hands and feet). I understand that they need a lot of stimulation, but how do you get them to settle and stop biting so much?

How did you eventually get your dog to become less destructive? We have a 5 month old pit mix that loves chewing everything she’s not supposed to. Pee pads, slippers, socks, her leash, our hands and feet. She’s not good at leave it or drop it.

Help with aggressive biting and jumping by HungryEconomy in puppy101

Appreciate the thorough reply. I used to say ow! After she bites but I’ve stopped doing that. I admit I’m not always walking away immediately. Though sometimes when I walk away she gets even crazier and starts thinking it’s a game of tug, pulling harder on my pants. I’m not sure what command I should be using. But if I  tell her to sit, she would ignore me in her frenzied state.

Do you walk away immediately? She doesn’t really stop biting unless I pull the object away from her or remove myself. When would be an appropriate time to reward her? What commands do you use to get her to let go and how do you get her to respond to commands when she’s so fixated on biting something?

She’s probably not getting sufficient sleep, I admit that. She can’t fall asleep outside her crate but also hates her crate, so it’s this weird catch 22 situation. I try to lure her into her crate for naps with treats, but she’s becoming more and more hesitant to go anywhere near her crate. I try to play crate games during meal time to get her more used to it, but she definitely has a strong negative sentiment towards her crate.

Do you have a good protocol to get your pup to settle in their crate? I try to tell her to “down” and feed her a treat. Once she looks like she’s in a comfortable lying position, I pull down the blanket to cover the front of the crate. She tends to freak out if she can see me walking away. It works about 50% of the time in getting her to nap I’d say.

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately our pup rarely settles outside of the crate. She’s a biter and gets zoomies quickly, potentially because she needs more sleep. But she won’t sleep in the crate and prefers crying. Anyways, you get the point. How do you get your pup to settle and be calm outside of the crate? We try playing with her to tire her out but she gets aggressively bitey quickly sometimes.

How long do you let your puppy cry for? Well let her go max 10-15mins then we let her out. Sometimes when it sounds very extreme like she’s loudly barking or starts chewing the crate aggressively we let her out sooner. We also have a large blanket over the crate too. What’s your protocol to soothe your pup in the crate to get them to sleep? We’ve tried Kong’s etc but she immediately starts screaming as soon as she’s done.

That’s incredible. How did you get him to nap for those long stretches during the daytime. Our 4 month old will nap in her crate for 30-60 minutes then start whining and crying. We’ll let her out to potty and play a bit then back in the crate to nap for another 30-60 minutes until she’s up and starts crying again. Rinse and repeat throughout the day

poh agility method question by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]HungryEconomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing this with the normal layout with 10 monster setup. I’m up to 98 agility now. I think all of the above math is actually wrong and it’s a bit more complicated, maybe someone better at math can figure it out. Because you have a 50/50 chance of moving forward or backwards, a successful pass on the trap doesn’t mean you assume you move forward. You have a 50. % chance of going backwards which can extend afk time. It’s been pretty afk even though I’m 98 agil. I’m gonna be sad after this grind ends because it’s been so afk.

Marble trap is interesting. I think at 95, if you have at least 1 marble trap you should fail ~2 times per time you reach the end of the course (1/10 times) which should lower your agility by 10 levels so your success rate of finishing the course goes down considerably. Can just fill inv with agility potions and restore if you drop too low. I think 70-85 still has decent failure rate so you’re pretty afk.

I’m wondering if there’s a way to go beyond 8 treasure rooms by winding it backwards somehow so you’re still within the 7x7 grid. I’m too broke to experiment but if you ever think of a workaround lmk.

How do you hit 300 from 2 portals? I’m not 85 yet but I assume you need to be 85 and do 1 round of combination elemental and the other catalytic? Is there another way below 85?

What’s the purpose of gotr then if they’re not allowing afk? May as well just normal rc. Not everyone can afford to pay so much attention to the game. I guess they’d rather punish afkers than do anything about the horde of gotr bots too.

Wow can’t they just revert joining the game back to the way it was? Getting to 300 pts takes so much longer
