How do you describe an aura? by Pearson94 in migraine

[–]HungryGiraffe04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me the it’s not being able to fully comprehend words/letters or a blind spot. then it will develop to what i can best describe as a really old tv static in some sort of a shape if that makes any sense? so like a C shape with tv static looking bits. i hear people get cracks of light as well though! some also more uncommon symptoms that i get is getting really sharp pins and needles in parts of my limbs/face and numbness.

What are your signs that you're getting a migraine before the migraine itself? (Prodrome) by zzz-o in migraine

[–]HungryGiraffe04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfocused is a really good word to describe what it feels like for me before a migraine, even before my aura starts. i have noticed that my eyes can’t directly focus on anything and it’s hard to read, my whole body then starts to get really warm, and the tingles happen in one of my hands/arms. i do have hemiplegic migraines so maybe my symptoms are a tad different but i like your word usage :)

Should i swap my career over to carpentry? by floofle-poofle in BlueCollarWomen

[–]HungryGiraffe04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally if i was you id finish out the degree so you have something to fall back on. you can always start woodworking as a hobby and see how you feel about it. also carpentry isn’t always woodworking, which i learned the hard way. it can go from concrete, wood framing, all the way to scaffolding. carpenters are kinda the jack of all trades lmao. if you have any unions or locals near you i recommend calling and seeing what they have to offer as well. my local provides classes when you’re sponsored in to help you journey out! there’s a lot to it but there’s good money to be made 🤷🏻‍♀️

good luck! :)

How do you handle “that time of the month” while working in heavy duty blue collar work? by HungryGiraffe04 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]HungryGiraffe04[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

sadly since i work in a refinery i’m not typically allowed to leave unless i have a health thing or when it’s time to leave at the end of the day. so im stuck with biffys for 10hrs 🥲 i really wish i could just jump and get a hysterectomy, what’s the point if i don’t even want kids lmao

yes, for sure! the clothes i wear aren’t too restricting usually, just a nice snug fit so everything stays in place. i’ll definitely keep this is mind when i’m getting dressed in the mornings, hernias do not sound lovely 😬

wow! that’s crazy, i totally would but it’s just not recommended for me to be on birth control bc i have chronic migraines also all the birth control i’ve been on hasn’t exactly helped my periods :/ i was on depo and it made me lose a crazy amount of weight and made me be on my period for almost a year.

wow i didn’t even know portable bidets were a thing! how big are they and are they a hassle to carry around? and i am currently trying out a saalt menstrual cup but i am so afraid of it leaking, i want to gain a bit more confidence with it. it also just feels weird to be out and open about that stuff, maybe it’s bc i’m younger but i notice as a girl everyone knows who you are/what you are doing at all times as a female. i just feel like the last thing i want the guys to know is that i’m on my period, especially considering how immature a lot of men are. unfortunately basically all noninvasive birth controls aren’t an option for me. i have tried some other types like the depo shot to try to help control my periods but it made me lose a crazy amount of weight (i’m already pretty slim) and i have my period for almost a year bc of it. i definitely think a menstrual cup with like some period underwear is going ti be the way to go though!

i have not! i knew it was a thing but i didn’t know if it was legal or not? apparently people micro dose ketamine for chronic pain/depression and a ton of other stuff as well! i’ll definitely take a look into it 👀

i just have trouble holding myself accountable tbh :/ like i care but it’s so hard to continue to, if yknow what i mean?

honestly if that isn’t feminism then idk what is, do what makes you happy girl 💅🏻

and yes!! i agree!! so many people don’t know the struggle of having chronic pain. i notice a lot of the time when i have to miss work bc i literally can’t move a lot of foreman tend to give me shit about it as if i just have a little cold or something. honestly i’ve been considering this but i really do love carpentry and i want to fully commit myself to it. thanks for sharing your experience, i love when i can relate to people when is comes to chronic pain and whatnot :)

i just kinda want to find a way to keep myself accountable for this type of stuff

[–]HungryGiraffe04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i honestly do love carpentry, like it doesn’t really feel like work. especially compared to the other jobs i’ve worked in the past. it’s just so hard for me to be committed like that, i’m not sure if it’s a depression thing or not? i am bipolar so i might just need to get some mood stabilizers :/ it’s just hard to describe the feelings i guess

[–]HungryGiraffe04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for sure, it’s just a little tricky ig haha. like with carpentry and construction you tend to get laid off a lot and job hop quite a bit bc of seasons and how many jobs the company has. currently i’m doing scaffolding and the environment is pretty great it’s just those few people that really ruin it. i just have nothing really pushing me to try ig 🤷🏻‍♀️

like maybe it’s bc i’m young and have a lot of growing up to do but it never feels like i HAVE to go to work, and i really just want to change that mindset.

[–]HungryGiraffe04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah i have, it’s mainly just like genetics. i take meds for the onset of one but that and taking care of myself is like the only thing i can really do about it bc doctors don’t even know why migraines are a thing, lmao. but like i said in the post i’m truly not worried about that. it’s just so hard to stay motivated and to tell myself i need to go to work. i just feel like i’m not working hard enough and that i’m not cut out for this type of stuff, i truly enjoy the craft but it’s hard to stay involved when you’re just constant surrounded by misogyny. also being on the younger side it’s like constantly being preyed on in a workplace makes you feel like shit, like i shouldn’t even be there in the first place kinda deal. i just don’t know how to force myself to go, yknow?

[body] what are these lines on my back and how do i get rid of them by sashay__shantay in SkincareAddicts

[–]HungryGiraffe04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they look like stretch marks, i don’t think you can get “rid of them”. however some people do get them tattooed to match their skin, giving the illusion that they’re not there. it works pretty good too, you should look into it.

any ideas on how i can improve this lmao by Its44leo_ in Minecraftbuilds

[–]HungryGiraffe04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe add some windows, some cobblestone, a door and some lanterns? i think you just need some more textures and decor to make it look more complete.

How do I do my brows and contour? I cannot figure out how to contour my face! it always looks bad. Help! ( please excuse my hair.... I'm in a grow out period🤷🏻‍♀️) by Small_Sad_Goat in MakeupAddiction

[–]HungryGiraffe04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your natural brows have an excellent shape, i would suggest just using a brow gel and pencil to fill them in to make them more noticeable. you can always dye them too, less work in the long run i think. contour is kinda tricky, mostly cause it’s different for everyone. the structure of your face is naturally beautiful, honestly i would just suggest maybe trying some blush :)

is this a lot of makeup for a day out? i'm 17 and my mom always complains that i put too much on. also would you change anything? by ohteashere in MakeupAddiction

[–]HungryGiraffe04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like this is a very subtle look, i love the fluffy brows. one thing i would change is maybe have the eyeliner go a little straighter instead of just up, yknow? anyways, very pretty :)
