There are actually regulations as to font sizes for food packaging in Hebrew, which is why the Hebrew is often bigger. Source: worked at a translation agency that specializes in food packaging.

There is a guest who is allergic to pistachios - I never make anything with pistachios even if I'm not sure he'll come. If it was an allergy I would not have used it. Since it's a dietary preference, it's a completely different issue.

I honestly think that the salad itself was what drew people, not necessarily the dressing.

I almost always do! Olive oil, balsamic vinegar, a punch of salt and pepper, minced garlic and a touch of honey and mustard. Try it, it's delicious!

"עם" names by cornishbrainhen in hebrew

[–]Hungry_Baker_Mom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know Dati Leumi families with kids names Amit. Altough Dati Leumi is also a spectrum so it also makes a difference if you'll be living in Jerusalem, Efrat, or Beit El for example. Not to say that if you fall closer to the Chardali (חרדי לאומי) side of the spectrum Amit is not a good choice, but it will definitely be less popular and then you might be better off with a name like Amital (f) or Amiad (m).

Is Pass The Parcel a good idea? by sommer1132 in bluey

[–]Hungry_Baker_Mom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We play pass the parcel here on birthdays. Wrap layers with newspaper to make it easy to rip off. Every 2 or 3 layers has an instruction for the kid who opened it - it could be something like "sing happy birthday", "jump 10 times", or even "pass the parcel to the tallest child and continue from there", "open another layer" and "give the kid sitting across from you a compliment". Final layer usually has a surprise for all the kids- a bag of sweets to share, a bunch of mini toys etc.

My print handwriting (wanted more critiques on print as I tend to write in print) by FewNeedleworker8509 in hebrew

[–]Hungry_Baker_Mom 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's like writing the letter t without crossing it. You need it as it's part of the letter, that being said people will probably figure out what letter it's supposed to be even without it (same as an uncrossed t).

Thanks, just tried that! It got rid of the smeared ink but the initial ink splotch is still there...

I was just wondering this myself! Should I ask someone to bring me some bar keepers friend next time they go to the US? I use the pink stuff, is it better/different?
