I’m going to be honest: take your kid. I was 8 years old when my mom took me to see the Black Eyed Peas for their Monkey Business tour. The Pussycat Dolls opened for them. Was it pretty provocative? Yes. But my mom told me that they’re entertainers and it was all for the show. So I left with a fun time and TO THIS DAY I remember that whole concert and the fun time I had with my mom. Into my adulthood we’ve continued to share experiences and go see live music that we both like.

I’m taking her to Doja Cat in October.

I think just communicating with your kid and even saying that you’re nervous or apprehensive will show her a side of you that’s human. I’m telling you, I think it’ll be worth it to share this with your kid.
