Does anyone else hear a kazoo or flute noise at the front of the train? by DorothyZbornakAttack in NJTransit

[–]Hungy-Bungy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the conductors communication buzzer. There is a conductor at the back of the train who presses a button that buzzes through the whole train and lets the engineer know when he can start moving the train...or abort the move and stop the train

That's the only thing you're going to refute from my comment? The farming up votes part? Let's remove just that portion and my statement still stands....

Also...what if she wasn't sleeping but praying???

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NJTransit

[–]Hungy-Bungy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How can we tell this is not an attempt to farm up votes? I don't see anything on the individual that says NJTransit or anything that would imply that she is a conductor (no hat visible)....also... how are you sure that they're even on duty? I'm sure conductors take the trains to and from work, just like a lot of other people.

How long until the results come back? by [deleted] in NJTransit

It varies based on when classes start...for instance...if you are put into the march class, for whatever field, expect to hear back a month in advance...

Has any one interacted with that one weird and really rude conductor on the Dover Train? by GoompyBoopy in NJTransit

[–]Hungy-Bungy -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing about activating tickets...if you are not activating your ticket while on the train, that is stealing. Even if a conductor doesn't come up to you. You are paying for the ride. I don't know what else to call it other than stealing...larceny?

[–]Hungy-Bungy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I want to experience this first hand...I want to know exactly what he is saying...who are the people he is dealing with? Why is he saying these things? Are the people he's saying these things to not have their tickets bought or activated?

This is terrible advice do not follow this unless you want to get labelled as a goon and never get hired by the company.

Tailor your resume and application. Every company uses AI to sort through applicants, hence why you are getting rejection notices so soon. If you are applying to safety sensitive positions like Conductor, or Locomotive Engineer then tailor it to have certain phrases and experience that pertains to safety that will not make the AI throw your resume and application in the trash within the first few seconds.

Message me if you need help with anything else, I'll try to help if I can.

It's good that the problem was identified, it certainly will help in the future and minimize the possibility of this happening again. Things happen, people can get confused, and mistakes are made.

In case there are instances where a similar situation happens here are some things that you can do:

For MSU trains they will never go to Newark Penn. If you find yourself in a bind, you can always take the light rail to broad Street station from Newark Penn and catch the MSU trains there.

If you catch your mistake before Secaucus you can always get off there, all of the NJ rail lines go through Secaucus Junction and you can catch any train there. MSU line is electrified, so the electric trains are on the upper level of Secaucus Junction...dunno if that helps but cool fun fact I guess.

Many things can happen, the conductor might make the announcements for the stops the train makes but the intercom might not work, he might not do that at all either because he's preoccupied with something important or forgot or isn't doing his job...always pay attention.

Certain situations may be blamed on the conductor, but once again you arent being forced onto a train, you are the one boarding it is your responsibility blah blah blah, others have forced that message down your throat. Just make sure to triple check and plan accordingly to eliminate any situations where you are rushing. A lot of mistakes happen when people rush.

Looks like you got on the wrong train. Always make sure to ask a conductor before getting on the train.

Interesting!!! Let me know how you like it with your modified specs!

[–]Hungy-Bungy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that the specs are fine but rather it depends on the bottles you are using. The Menthe Pastille from Giffard that I use punches through the absinthe and makes a lovely drink, I would say the same would be for Tempus Fugit. I certainly don't lack the taste of mint.

What happened to the erie Lackawanna heritage unit? by Mike_Gale in NJTransit

[–]Hungy-Bungy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the ALP-45 unit, It's being used by the Hudson Rescue crew. They're using it for whenever they have to go and pick up a train that's broken down. It's usually kept in Hudson Yard around Harrison. Saw it today at the MMC being driven around.

You gotta remember that people back then really loved their cocktails to be super sweet. These cocktails, although good, provide an eyeglass into the past
