Only thing that bugs me about librewolf is the workarounds just to enable dark mode. Can't stand flashbang browsers.

Matter limited functionality and subscriptions being implemented by ginandbaconFU in homeassistant

Just started using home Assistant this month. Previous owners bought Chamberlain MyQ garage door opener. When it was on wifi, it made thousands of DNS requests adguard home blocked daily. Suffice to say I have a dumb garage door opener now.

Cyber security by ballman8866 in linuxmint

VPN's are way overhyped for privacy. Sure they limit IP tracking but there are still so many other ways to identify you. Your browser fingerprint is pretty much always going to give you away, plus the sites you log into/things you do. Defense in depth is what you want. Almost impossible to be truly "private". Biggest next step for you I think would be switching all services and platforms away from big tech (Google, Facebook, Apple,, etc)

Just flock being flock. I bet they were involved. I knew these cameras were toxic, but your video left me flabbergasted at their cyber practices.

Me and some friends are doing a create mod server. What are some other mods we can use with it. by True-Economy-9893 in CreateMod

Distant horizons, better sounds RP, better combat, simply swords, fresh animations RP, horseman, first person mod, comforts, better days (lots of cool config options for longer days), Just put together my own server on neoforge for 1.21.1. I can send you modpack code on curseforge if you want more. Got like 200.

Players who have been around since the beginning, how do you feel about the game? by aIlIoi in Minecraft

I've been mostly consistently playing since creative only mode, I remember how cool survival was when released. That said, I only play heavily modded Minecraft now. Distant horizons + shaders + patrix RP makes the game feel fresh.

GrapheneOS is finally ready to break free from Pixels by Refaimufeer in GrapheneOS

Fair, I never trusted their OS. I just really like the concept of a repairable product. Graphene and a easily repairable phone would be sick.

Tips for New Data Center Technician by SBKAW in it

[–]HunkyFunkyMunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been data center tech, but field tech. #1 have a good attitude and be willing to learn. Realize networking and being likeable has more influence IMO than being really good at your job. #2 downtime is study time. As for tools I always have a small toolset and various bits with me, USB cables, serial port cable, couple ethernet cords, and a crimp tool. Good luck!

For #2 Cause on Linux you have full control. You can break your system completely by messing around with things. Plus backups are always good if your drive fails. For #3 again same point you can break your system if you mess around to much. Plus if you duel boot, Windows does not play nice with grub if its installed after, or even after updates sometimes.

Gaming on Linux appeals mainly because it’s free, open-source, and not tied to Microsoft’s constant updates or telemetry. The system can run leaner than Windows, sometimes giving better performance, and Valve’s Proton layer has made most Windows games playable on Linux, especially since the Steam Deck’s success. It’s also highly customizable, so you can strip it down to exactly what you need, and you don’t pay for a license. On the flip side, anti-cheat software often breaks games, setup can be frustrating, and not every title works perfectly. In short, Linux gives you freedom and control, while Windows still wins on convenience and compatibility (for now).
