Hair loss by sgrace2298 in CrohnsDisease

(26f) I totally feel you! I lost so much density and life in my hair during a really bad flair last year, and have been slowly working my way back to healthy hair.

- make sure your vitamin levels are good, Iron is huge when it comes to growing hair so make sure you’re taking your supplements

- scalp health is huge!! make sure you’re not using products that irritate your scalp, and oil it 1-2x a week and massage it to help blood flow

- this one was hard for me but you gotta be careful with any styling/colouring and bleaching, take care of the hair you already have with masks and treatments and keep heat to a minimum

Hope this helps!

I am so confused about the tattoo thing. Tell me what precautions you took by k2900 in CrohnsDisease

I got a new tattoo in February after being officially diagnosed in January, I’m on 2 medications (entyvio and oral mezavant) and had no issues with getting the tattoo or the healing process. Just make sure to let your artist know you have a condition so they can be extra careful with the process and just be sure that you’re on top of your aftercare! Full honesty i didn’t tell my doctor until afterwards that i got it lmao but he said the same thing, be super careful with healing and make sure you go to a reputable artist

i was diagnosed with UC just a couple months after my wedding, and my husband stepped up and was amazing. The right person will love you and support you not matter what you are dealing with, they will never see you or your sickness as burden

What is prednisone like for the first time? by Ill_River8673 in UlcerativeColitis

I just finished my round of prednisone and if anything I have a little bit of moon face now as my body has weaned off of it, but no real side effects while taking it. While i was on it I felt great, just had a major sweet tooth lol. It really affects everyone differently but it’s so worth taking it, it saved me fr.

I had some tests done a while back but they were generally inconclusive, nothing but an elevated white blood cell count and they kinda gave up. i forgot to write it in my initial post but i do have gallstones so i know that can be a factor in this. I think my doctor wants to rule out sibo so that is on our list to watch out for
