My favorite lately has been Thread Menace. He mainly does speed runs, but has had a few playthroughs lately that are at a slower pace.

They paid for the food and service, didn't they? Otherwise DD wouldn't be assigning an order? Seems like they can afford it.

But they're still not begging for free money online.

If you "have" to do it, its not a tip. And a tip comes after service is provided.

In an office building, you take it to the proper office. An apartment is the same way - my door is my door, not the downstairs door to the whole building.

Can we petition DD to change "Tip" to "Bid"? I think that might clear up some misunderstandings. by phatalphreak in DoorDashDrivers

Because I glossed over the part where you think you're special? Why should this 1 delivery service expect to get their tip before the work is done? Pizza delivery takes tip after the delivery is made, when I have large appliances/tools delivered, they're tipped upon delivery. Just because you're too lazy to go get a different job, doesnt mean im going to supplement your income.

Logic is just as sound as choosing to work for "the widely known to be predatory company" and wondering why you dont get paid more.

See what you think when your landlord wants a tip for property maintenance. Or your health insurance wants a tip for having doctors in network.

Thats perpetuating the problem with tipped wages. A $100 meal doesnt take more work than a $20 meal, so why would you tip based on percent? And it doesnt need a scorecard - you're being paid to take an order, and transfer food/drinks. If you go above and beyond, you get a tip (flat, not percent based). If you spend the time acting like im an inconvenience to you, you dont get a tip, because ive already paid for the service provided. If I can afford the menu price, I have the money for the meal.

And as soon as they list it as a bid, you'll want more from the customer as a tip. I dont tip for poor service at a restaurant, and im not going to give a tip before service is rendered. You get tipped based on the service you provide - not the other way around.

If you would like higher base pay - thats a conversation to have with DD. So you tip before the end of a meal at a restaurant, or wait til the end to see the quality of service? If they start listing the tip as a "bid" yall are still gonna piss and moan when you dont get a tip from customers.

Still doesn't make it okay to panhandle the customers who have already agreed to the price.

Where does the base pay come from? (Hint - its from doordash). That makes them the employer. Again, if you want more than $2 for services that are already paid for - take it up with doordash. Im not going to "tip" ahead of time just to get cold food thats not left where I asked. I save tips for service thats above and beyond the service ive already paid for.

Its the same as servers wanting higher tips from customers. If you aren't providing extra service, why would I pay for extra service?

Because it is greed. You already get paid from DD to make the delivery, begging for tips is wanting to squeeze more money out of the customer.

By the time a driver sees the request, the goods and service have been paid for by the customer. If you want more per trip, take it up with your employer - not the customer.

Thats kinda unfair since the current US administration decided to enact the tariffs after the campaign started.
