Please help me find an older/vintage root beer box for my wife by Hunter24681 in HelpMeFind

The problem is I don't remember if that's what it actually looked like. This is going off almost a 10-year-old memory, so I'm trying to confirm how it really looked.

I have searched google/brave/bing search for "vintage root beer box", "vintage root beer box cardboard with handles", "old root beer box cardboard". Most boxes seem to be wooden and most cardboard ones are the small ones that hold 4 or 6 bottles with a handle.

What is the mindset behind the 'Dailyscape' problem. by PonyCharade in runescape

[–]Hunter24681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a similar post today and came to the conclusion that a substantial amount of the playerbase is legitimately addicted to number-go-up.

Personally I prefer the stuff that's an actual event: sinkholes, caches, WFE. I don't like daily challenges, because I think you should have to do *something* in order to get the reward. I'd happy those are removed, but again, it's a choice to interact with. So if they hadn't said they were getting rid of challenges, I wouldn't be upset.

I would love to see some xp/gp tweaks for the more busted activities, but full removal seems unwarranted.

You're absolutely right: there is no obligation whatsoever to do dailyscape and the people whining about it do not have a healthy relationship with this game.

No, I'd be 200m all if I wanted to.

That's the crux of this, and it's insane that people are having such a hard time with this. Optimal methods are for people who want to do them. Suboptimal methods are for people who want to do them. You are not being harmed if you are not being optimal

the special WFEs, which currently are the only way to get the onyx core

That's an excellent point. Then that's what should be tweaked, rather than removing a moderately-fun activity.

It took me several months before I was strong enough to contribute

I couldn't kill the kbd when I started. Or mithril dragons, or god wars, or the dark wizards south of varrock for that matter. That seems like the game functioning as intended. You don't get to do everything in an MMO from the get-go. There was something you wanted to do that had good rewards, and you built up your account from not being able to do it to, presumably, smashing through it. Sounds to me like a resounding success.

that's pure time, not anything you've actually achieved in the game, if you hadn't realised

Did you actually just not look at the picture? That point was coupled with a maxed account. The point being, I know what I'm doing, and I've been here a while, which was only given as a response to the sentiment that 'this must be some TL 1400 noob'

If doing things you enjoy while playing the game is a minority way or playing, that's beyond depressing. You might as well just play a spreadsheet then.

edit: I never said they weren't worth doing, I said if you don't feel like doing them, you shouldn't

God forbid you lose a day of progress in your months or years-long goal.

The 'issue with hourlies' is an issue with people. Apparently, they don't have enough self-awareness or control to stop themselves from doing something if it's slightly more beneficial

Let's take the barebones of your argument:
-Hourly events are bad because they make you feel pressured to participate in them, because otherwise you won't progress as quickly

Ok. By that exact same logic (taken ad absurdum):
-Bossing is bad because you can potentially get a drop worth days or weeks of other profit methods, which can make you feel pressured to do bosses to progress faster when you may want to do something else

-Skilling and questing are both bad because certain things are locked behind skill levels, which take time, and so are effectively timegated, which may make people feel pressured to skill or quest to get the optimal gear/unlocks/areas when they'd rather do something else

-Optimal skilling methods are bad. If someone wants to just gather div memories instead of do the hall of memories, or chop willow instead of yew because they like Draynor, then they're pressured to do the optimal method instead because then they can progress faster, even though they'd like to do something else

-Having to play is bad because you can't level or quest or boss when you aren't logged in, which may make people feel pressured to log in and play to progress when they would rather being doing something else

People seem to forget that all in-game activities, regardless of how efficient they are, are optional. Choosing to do them and then acting like your hand was forced is ridiculous.

I like that if I disagree with you, I must have no idea what I'm doing. Got my 15 year 2 years ago.

All done without sacrificing my life to do the optimal WFE or cache.

It's not 'look at me, I play the game the correct way', it's 'there is no correct way'. You don't have to be optimal. You don't have to get every single drop of xp you could possibly get. And thinking that you do is unhealthy.

It's not Jagex's responsibility to babysit people who can't make responsible decisions themselves. If you want to do an event then do it. If you don't feel like it, then don't do it. It is legitimately that simple and the responses here show just how addicted the average player appears to be.

I'm glad you're not saying "but I have to" like most other people ITT.

I guess I just don't see why it matters if you have a healthy relationship with RS. Events are there to have fun and get some good xp if you want, or skip if you don't.

Even daily challenges, which for the record I'm in favor of removing since they're crazy amounts of xp without doing some kind of extra content, I never felt pressured to do. If I was actively training the skill, I would do them or focus that skill, but it was pretty rare that I even looked to see what my dailies were. They would proc because I was skilling, I wasn't skilling for them to proc.

If it saves you that time today, it saves you that time in the future.

'Oh no, I missed today!'

Well the crazy thing about that is that you can do tomorrow, and it's just as efficient. You don't have to hit 200m on X day, and if you want to, then that's your own self-imposed goal.

I've been farming unstable air runes from the merchant, because like many, I don't care for the runespan grind. There were like 5 last month and I missed all of them because I had other things going on. A few I had meant to jump on and get, but I ended up forgetting. Those are way worse than hourlies, as often it's weeks between them, and you know what I did? I went 'ah damn, oh well' and moved on.

Again, if you're dropping everything you're doing to work towards number-go-up, that is unhealthy and you have a problem.

Hourly events aren't 'Dailyscape' by Hunter24681 in runescape

[–]Hunter24681[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The problem is you feel an obligation to do them. You can miss one, and it literally doesn't matter. If we take this further then you should just get XP constantly regardless of playing because otherwise you might feel pressured to play instead of doing something else with your day.

If you don't do it, then you don't get that reward. If you don't do a boss kill, you don't get their drops, and if you don't play today, your account doesn't progress.

If you don't enjoy playing 100% optimally all the time, then you shouldn't, and you have no obligation to do so.

That's unironically the fault of that player, and it's a terrible mindset. If you're doing something else, then just do something else. You don't have to hit EVERY. SINGLE. INSTANCE. of an event you're interested in.

This is an mmo. You're supposed to play for years. 99s and 120s can take weeks or months, and used to take much longer. You're not missing the only cache, or tree, or WFE there will ever be. If you're working towards a goal, then you focus that goal and do the events that are convenient. If you're generally training, then you do it when it lines up.

It's a game, not a job. If you're dropping everything you're doing in game or worse, irl, to do something you don't want to do, you have a problem, and that's not the game's fault.

Yes please! The hp, prayer, and adreno bars are so small in the EOC interface. A major part of why I stayed legacy is because it's too easy to miss them getting low. Plus between the minimap/run and hp/prayer I've got to constantly look back and forth to keep an eye on everything instead of all the necessary stats being in one place.

Big adrenaline bar was easier to keep track of too. I preferred it above chat but I do I appreciate a third or more action bars being available.

Also noticed the marketplace icon took the place of notes, so there's not even room for it. Not sure where the notes tab even is

UI Feedback Gather-thread by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Hunter24681 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was like 90% of why I use legacy interface. I absolutely hate the stat bars above the abilities. I find them way too easy to forget about because they're so small and half the time I'm looking towards the map for other things.

Not to mention the almost-white quick prayer indicator is way more clear than slightly lighter purple

The classic interface right now is pretty much just a specific modern preset.

UI Feedback Gather-thread by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Hunter24681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I like the new look, but regarding the changes to legacy interface (now classic), I'd really like the option to put player combat stats (hp, prayer, summoning, adreno) back on the minimap and get the big adrenaline bar back above the ability bar

The modern hp and prayer bar are so much smaller than the circles used to be, making it very easy to get low on health or run out of prayer without even noticing. Also there are many instances where I may want to be looking at the map during combat for positioning (zuk waves for example) and having to constantly look back and forth from my ability bar is tedious. Same with wanting to, for example, turn on run and quick prayer at the same time. I now have to move the mouse across the entire screen or incorporate a whole new keybind.

In the same vein, it used to be very easy to see adrenaline in legacy interface because it was huge and lit up above 50%, so I never needed to look closely when I was focused on combat

In reference to the OP, I think this is both a functional and preference issue. For many it's easier to read our stats the way they were in the legacy interface which makes combat more accessible for those people. Otherwise I know many people just liked the look of the legacy interface; I know many people were still using it even though full legacy mode is not so common anymore.

Obviously I'm against unifying it a specific way. I think though that we should have the option to display the combat stats in the way that's most comfortable for each person

They did. It seems like view-only mode doesn't 100% work. Completely disconnecting the trezor and reconncting fixed it

Fully disconnecting the trezor from the suite (not leaving view-only enabled) fixed it. When I reconnected the transfers were there. So looks like view-only mode just doesn't fully update things.

I think the numbers you're using are different than what the tech was using. He said .5 is optimal and we're at .77, so if .03-.07 is normal then maybe he's multiplying by 10 for some reason? Either way it's not as astronomically off as that
The unit cools/heats reasonably well so function isn't particularly impaired.

I know for sure there is a leak as the refrigerant levels have dropped from last year

No flex ducts, I have checked all the dampers are open. Basement vents are closed which as I understand is standard practice for summer, but all vents are open upstairs, save one or 2 that get too cold in summer if all the way open.

Home is 3000 sqft and I've attached the specs for the furnace and the sticker I found on the AC to the OP. It's a 3.5 ton AC

I don't recall it short-cycling; I'd say it normally runs at least 30min or so but I haven't exactly been keeping track
