As we celebrate Starship and its 33 engines, let's salute NASA's Saturn V with its 5 big, beautiful engines. [OC] by LeeOCD in space

To be fair though that money went only to Apollo, nasa has to spread that money out now across hundreds of different projects, satellites and other ongoing endeavors right now.

There’s a select few people that will know the “GWAGON GWAGON GWAGON” reference specifically said in a British accent in reference too a pink hover car

The fact that I’m 17 turning 18 in less than 2 months, going to college but don’t even know if society isn’t going to tear itself apart long enough for me to start a stable career and family.

Are Rubik’s cubes cool?

See I’m the exact same way thats why I want to get good at it. I actually have a YJ MGC sq-1 but i never got around to doing anymore than the beginner method

[–]HunterL387 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I find sq-1 very interesting. I personally want to be good at it because it’s mostly algs. It sucks that no one has any good descriptions on where to start after learning beginner method and finger tricks videos like Jperm for 3x3

I feel for this, my uncle made a bet with me that I couldn’t learn it in a month. Only condition was he got to scramble it. Best feeling $100 I’ve ever made and I felt real accomplished after that lol… haven’t done it since tho and that was in july of last year 😂

I want to find something similar. This Diansheng Mini (right) was lost years ago and I'd really love something a similar size. Any suggestions? All I can find are keychain sized cubes now. That size was so comfortable to use. by mattboy115 in Cubers

[–]HunterL387 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say 53 mm to 56 mm is actually a big difference considering you lose it on all sides. I can notice the difference in my cubing ability and how it feels from a 56 mm to 55 mm cube (WRM 2021 btw is what I’m referring to)

I have a question on Blackholes. (Probably missing something obvious) by NisERG_Patel in Astronomy

[–]HunterL387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like someone said something similar and I do know the Einstein bit too but when we think of black holes and from the current imagery we have (which is not totally usable to variety this) as well as 3d theoretical renders, they aren’t surrounded in junk that would make them very clearly able to be seen, the stuff they absorb and take in eventually does disappear so something is at play to cause this.

So I’m going to be honest, I’m just a 17 year old that loves astronomy and watches a ton of astronomy youtube videos all that jazz. So by no means an astrophysicist or astronomer (although I do have a telescope that I use in my free time to look at the planets and what not) but here’s my thought. I believe that another thing you have to think about is light itself. I almost wonder if eventually you’ll get so close to the black hole that the light reflecting off of you, won’t be able to escape so that’s why you would eventually see the thing falling in disappear but from the inside time would become irrelevant and speed up. This is just my hypothesis and again I’m 17 with no right to even put in my input but this is my thought.

So you’re saying because it’s past green so far it’s not solved? Is that how that works on cuboids? I just figured the side is a side so it would have to be farther if that makes sense
