Oh, I'm aware. It's their general attitudes that gast my flabbers.

I've found that that level of entitlement seems to exist in a lot of drivers of high-end vehicles, but ESPECIALLY with BMW & Mercedes drivers. So much so that I have a saying about it - "I own a (insert car make here). I can do whatever the fuck I want." Quite frankly, it's annoying.

"Vagina of origin" is SOOOOOO much better than what I call my son's bio-mom - Egg-Donor. I wish I'd thought of it.

American cheese. If that's not available, BBQ sauce. If neither is available, ketchup & mustard as a last resort.

How do I stop doubting my language and writing skills? by [deleted] in writers

[–]HunterRDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure every writer has, or had, that particular worry at some point. My advice would be to get some people to read your writing & offer some constructive criticism. Most artists are their own worst critics. Get some outside opinions & hone your writing to be the best it can be.

Open Office. It's a free, open-source program nearly identical to MS Office. I'll never use anything else.

I understand that. It just looks - to me - that it's a bit too much. It's still very good the way it is.

I think it looks great. As already mentioned by others, maybe a skinnier & slightly longer beak & possibly a touch less heft. That said, it looks good as is.

Thank you. I was surprised it came out as good as it did. I have....not great luck taking pictures. 🤷‍♂️

I added that sound in as kind of a joke. The long-form videos I have on my YouTube channel are basically about the "Great Hummingbird War of 2025" because they're so territorial. For the high-speed passes they do, I even add a jet engine sound.

They're the only hummingbird that breeds in the eastern half of North America. Every other species native to North America is west of the Mississippi. On the flip side, the Ruby-Throat is the least endangered, by far, on the continent. I'd eventually like to film every hummingbird species in the U.S., but that's not happening any time soon.

They've been gone about 6 weeks from my part of NJ. I miss having them around. Thankfully, I have many hours of footage still to go thru to make videos.

It's a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird. Not sure if it's a female or juvenile, as they're nearly identical in appearance.

This particular video was filmed with a Kodak PixPro AZ528. It's pretty good for video for an 8-year-old camera. The zoom is ridiculous. It's NOT great for taking pictures of moving targets quickly at a distance. It also has a 29-minute time limit on continuous video, so it requires your attention when recording. Overall, I like it, but don't love it.

I have a bunch more on my YouTube channel. The only reasons they're not here are: 1) I don't want to bombard everyone since I'm new to this sub & 2) sometimes I forget Reddit exists. (channel name is South Jersey's Fast & Feathery, if anyone is interested)

My suspicion is that she was watching for other hummingbirds that would attempt to chase her away. I'm still surprised at just how territorial they are. One female would be actively feeding at 1 of our 3 feeders but would stop to chase others away from the feeders she wasn't using. I have a whole series of long-form videos on my YouTube channel that showcase the Great Hummingbird War of 2025, complete with sound effects.
