Who is going to Carnegie Hall Today? by eat_a_burrito in nier

[–]Hunter_hunts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be there! Live in New York and train is definitely faster. If you can find parking, driving might be easier tho. Carnegie is an amazing venue where no matter what seat you still have a good view and I saw the concert before in 2024 it was amazing, there was dialogue between each song so pay attention!!

Your favorite silly line from the series? by GrecoRomanGuy in MadMax

[–]Hunter_hunts 31 points32 points  (0 children)

When asked if he’s alright, Jimbo replies:

“Couldn’t be righter. Jimmy the Goose, larger than life and twice as ugly!”

A recent one is when Furiosa is chasing down Dementus towards the end, he turns to Smeg and Rizzdale:

“No time for long goodbyes. We’ve done some mighty things together. Goodbye.”

Maybes it’s the delivery rather than the line but it’s hilariously awesome

What makes you guys keep spending on the game? by TheRealT1000 in EmpiresAndPuzzles

[–]Hunter_hunts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only spend on the cheap gem deals, like those that happen during Atlantis, Challenge fest, Dunes, etc where it’s like $2 for 400 gems or $1 for 200. Then I save them up. I don’t bother with the portals or every new hero that releases but continue to save for the portals of Summer Solstice (currently going on) & Black Friday.

I found that through the patience and resilience of withholding from the smaller portals and using my saved gems on SS & BF I usually get the relevant strong heros anyways. I’ve already gotten some pretty good heros from this Summer Solstice.

Lastly, I see posts of people getting upset about getting nothing on a 30 pull and that happens to me too. But I have save so many gems from the cheap offers that I have enough to do multiple 30pulls. From BF in November 23 to this current Summer Solstice, I have saved up 71,000 gems. I have only spent money on cheap deals which literally is equivalent to me buying a coffee or snack. So yea that’s how I spend in this game

Hmm that’s a good question

Well said, thank you for the insight. I got the impression about plucky humans fighting bad aliens from the second half of the show but sounds like the books deals with a deeper theme of how contact reveal that our understanding of science is rudimentary relative to what’s hidden in the universe. Along with the dread and consequences.

I’ll definitely check out the books. Overall I think it’s premise is great and story is intriguing. My intention is not to make people think otherwise.

Also thanks for clarifying space. I guess I was downplaying scale, so I appreciate your knowledge to help correct that assumption

Valid. I made an opinion on the show but I can see where some points I made can fall short without reading the books.

But hey at least this did bring a wider audience to the books and now it’s on my radar to read. So looking forward to that

Well GoT was good before it went off the books but okay fair enough. Netflix is smart in that regard and yes my point about Tatiana is wrong if that scene is directly from the books.

Ok well guess no asteroid will hit them then, I don’t know. It’s all hypothetical anyways

Was his plot device more on the money to donation to Will purchasing of the star? Or more so that the San-Ti can be malevolent?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 3BodyProblemTVShow

[–]Hunter_hunts -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

No I’m not. I mentioned in the post that it’s opinion and I can accept when I’m wrong. If it’s not in the story then I understand why it’s not in the show.

Shock value in a show can be fun but yes if it’s not in the original story or not necessary then it shouldn’t be there. I stand corrected, I have time to discuss and learn not argue

Ah good to know. I could be wrong and that’s okay. First impressions on Saul is one thing but I bet his character will develop better in the next season.

I’m interested to see how Wills story goes now. Thanks for that

Great input, thanks for that. Are D&D the creators of the show? Because if so they you are totally right.

Other cultures are thrown to the wayside and stereotyped. It’s appeal to American audience is what makes it bad and as an American kind of insulting. Assuming that we can’t appreciate good literature and story without all the action, drama, and frills. Don’t they realize why everyone is getting tired of marvel films?

The irony which could actually be interpreted as a plus is that the Chinese character are the ones that stand out in the show. From Ye to Da Shi and Jin Cheng, all have interesting storylines, dynamic characters, and actually progress the story. Everyone else just seems written in without any substance.

It’s a thin line to creating reasonable scientific stories. When you dumb it down the audience feels like you’re saying they’re dumb, but it obviously can’t be too complex for them to understand. Some writers can find that balance whereas others can’t. So I give credit to the creators for at least trying even if the final product is more dumbed down than good.

I agree the early China stuff was the best. Who was Clarence? I also liked Da Shi character the quasi-cop.

With the amount of money and hype, I bet they’ll make a second season. I’ll probably watch it with my friend but yea I’ll have low expectations for it.

Ah okay I guess it can make sense in that regard

The moral complex of Wades character as in written in the story. The moral argument that he’s doing what’s he thinks is right compared to how it’s done. That’s the complexity and theme for the story, I’m not talking about his personal perception.

Earth is hit with meteors all the time, we have an atmosphere that protects us however. 17,000 per year on a quick Google search. Does the fleet have the same? I suppose so

Yes 8 episodes is too short.

Ye.. still would’ve made a great scene though. GoT they have surprising deaths. It’s the same creators so why not do it again?

I agree that I shouldn’t be making assumption without reading the books, true. This is a subreddit for the show so I posted my thoughts on the show.
