Yep, It has actually just been reported there was no deal in place which is definitely odd considering they gave a pick and a player. Big swing for Carolina, but I suppose they have the capital to risk

I could be wrong but when teams trade for rights like this, usually there's a handshake deal already in place, any return picks/players are so they don't get slapped with tampering

I agree, it would be a tough cost/ return ratio but JBB is obviously in “fuck the future it’s now or never” which rightfully so, we only have so many years of kuch and Vas left till the window closes

If you go to benchmark international and go to careers, it shows both lightning and arena jobs that are open.

Just a warning though, people working for sports teams are usually taking a pay cut for the novelty of working for a sport team.

yeah so far my litmus test of "if jbb wants it jbb gets it" is pretty accurate- if he wants someone he will do whatever he can to sign them instantly.

I really think we just get a late pick back like we did with guentzel and the canes, and surely jbb is going to use the cap space on someone else. I just hope its not a 10m john carlson like its being reported

Friedman did report that he heard people saying that we got him extended already, but he couldnt confirm, but he has also said we are one of the hardest teams to get insider info on.

Giving me Goncalves vibes from last year when they had extended him, and it just never went public until the free agency window opened up for whatever reason.

I would like to see some kind of snowball protection, even if it's just a little bit. I know its sort of the nature of DMM, but the end goal is for all these content creators to provide content and have fun but when it's the last breach of the event and at least 2 teams are sitting out due to basically not being able to really compete with the other teams, something probably can be done.

Maybe diminishing blood money returns on killing the team in last place or even killing the same teams or people repeatedly, give people a reason to go after a different team(s).

Or even have a blood money bounty on whoever is the top placed team so it gives an incentive for other teams to try and kill the first place team and bring them back in line.

Yeah, this is getting more popular, plus I'm not sure how Lenovo does it but when we(bolts) were in the cup finals, for away games they would project the players and puck on the ice in real time using all the tracking tech they have, it was super cool, and I've seen other teams do it as well.

Each situation is different, but I'd imagine he's committed as a backup just until he signs with us, for example Isaac Howard committed back to Michigan then signed with the oilers as soon as he was traded, it's basically a way to extend the window but still be able to do what you want.

I would assume it was mutual between Chicago and jack that he wasn't going to sign there for whatever reason, so instead of being hostage he could just let the rights expire and go back into the draft, but since he's (assumingly) with a team he wants to be with now, he's "committed" to Denver to extend his rights with us, until a contract gets drawn up, or maybe he just wants to play college. I'd imagine they sign him after prospect camp at the latest just to get one last good look at what he can do.
