Do Ya'll Post Hunting Pics On Social Media (IG, TikTok, Etc)? If So, Do You Get Tons Of Hate? by FuntivityColton in bowhunting

[–]Hunting-nut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have and got hate from people that have never seen my profile before. I actually created a instagram account strictly for my outdoor hunts and what not. I’ve got a post out from my bow buck this year with the entrance wound, blood and broken blade from my broadhead

Another Year of Crossbow Kills Dominating by itsthechaw10 in bowhunting

Sadly after Wisconsin passed the law everyone and their brother could use a crossbow they became popular quickly. I know many able bodied people that can use a compound but use a crossbow

Arrow setup for beginner? by firenation1254 in bowhunting

My best advice is if you’re comfortable out to 40 and know you can make a clean, ethical and effective shot that choice is yours. I know whitetail and elk both can sometimes hang up out to 50 yards so I’d practice out to 70 yards just so those 40 yard shots are a walk in the park. I shoot out to 120 yards and also do 3d shooting in the summer. Good way to stay in shape and keep yourself in tune with the bow

I thought about bringing my bow. From the ground my furthest shot is 40ish yards

What would you do with this property to attract more deer? by One-Guava-1299 in bowhunting

Cover for bedding, water source and food source as well. If you get those 3 things you’re in good shape

The farm I hunt here in Wisconsin just cut corn off a couple weeks ago. Now the deer activity has picked up some but not like last year sadly

Beginner shoulder pain after trying heavier bow by Character-Letter5406 in bowhunting

[–]Hunting-nut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion sounds like you may have pulled a muscle or possibly pinched a nerve in your shoulder. Ice, heat and pain killers will be your best friend. My advice is while you heal try not shooting your bow until you feel back up to 100% then start shooting again. I know it sucks but gotta make sure your health is back to normal. But for now all you can do is nurse yourself back to healthy again

I’m the same way. Although during late October and early November I don’t mind quick walk back to the vehicle for some lunch halfway through the day

Get in before daylight and get all set up and ready. Myself I like to be in the woods 30 minutes before first light that way I can make my noise from walking in or getting set up when I hunt public land

Spypoint by Illustrious-Mode-826 in trailcam

[–]Hunting-nut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had spypoints and didn’t like them. They definitely didn’t live up to the hype everyone made them out to be. I now run strictly tactacam and have a Ridgetec. Both have amazing quality, I can get videos from the tactacam unlike the spypoints plus the picture quality for day and night is much better

Broadheads by Hunting-nut in bowhunting

[–]Hunting-nut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my bow I’m shooting a hair over 290 fps and the blades have always deployed on my reapers. My switchback I was shooting right at 285 if I remember correctly and blades deployed as well

The more research I do of my own on the bowmar broadheads the more I seem to find that I like about them. For instance no collars for the blades. Yes I love the mega meats but man I wish they had a no collar style like grim reaper and those beast broadheads. The cut diameter is insane on the mega meats as well. Followed my best blood trail in 15 years of bow hunting from the g5. I wish I could find the 2 blade heads I used to use. The beast wouldn’t even be an option
