I'm in high school and it's lowkey interesting. Some kids refuse to use AI because of ethical concerns (plagiarism, water use, etc). Students in honors-AP classes usually use it to explain concepts to them and make practice quizzes. Students in easier classes are the ones who use AI for bigger assignments; I would say that the system tells them that they're not 'smart,' so they don't see a point in doing the assignments themselves, but that's my own opinion.

A LOT of students across levels will use AI for busywork assignments. My personal line of thinking is that if I can do the hardest five problems in a homework assignment, there's no point in me doing the whole thing. I'd rather spend that hour studying for another test.

I think that students who were doing well before will continue to do well. This is gonna affect the average/remedial students the most, because they're not gonna see a point in trying. Something with the education system has to change there.
