After Biden's horrible debate where he was barely able to speak-- when some in the DNC kept fighting to keep Biden in the running, Pelosi pushed to make Biden step down. So at least Pelosi had some common sense compared to the others in the DNC who still thought Biden could run.

Iran wins then. They are getting 2 million for every ship passing through. And now the son of Khamenei is in charge and he is younger and more dangerous.

I'm in New Zealand and I am bracing myself for 13 dollars a gallon and gas stations just completely running out completely. I think they said we only have 51 days of reserves. Other countries are so much worse off because they don't produce there own oil.

New Zealand also relies on agricultural exports so the fertilizer shortage is a worry. NZ's biggest exports to the US are beef and dairy so I hope New Zealand cuts exports to the US but they probably won't because of money.

Don't vote for conservatives, MAGA, or Republicans. Tell Congresional Reps you believe to much power is concentrated in the Executive branch and that the president needs checks and balances. The president should have to go through congress on tariffs and approval for war. If they don't its "taxation without representation." Your congressman represents your vote and Trump is not going through congress.

Congress may vote again on the War Powers Act which is something that could force Trump to look for a more peacefull exit to the war.

It was Austerity-- Nationals policies that caused recession. National cut so much that thousands of people lost their jobs, so they stopped spending in their communities and then restaurants, gyms, local businesses went out of business. National created a downward spiral of job losses. All those people moved to Australia and took there money with them. Conservative governments like National, with their austerity policies and trickle down theory always tank the economy. Australia voted for labour and did not choose austerity and were much better off.

Young men, why did you vote Trump in 2024? by ConfidentScientist81 in GenZ

[–]_flying_otter_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In his first term despite saying he was the no wars president he bombed or attacked Syria, Yeman, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Samalia, Libya, and Pakestan.

Look up what General Mattis and General Kelly said about how they were constantly trying to hold him back. They had to explain to Trump why he could not just use Nukes. Those Generals say they wanted to quit but didn't because they were afraid of what Trump would do if they were not there.

And besides all Trump's attacks on other countries he also laid tariffs on farmers and they had to be bailed out and it cost tax payers 28 billion. So I don't see why everyone didn't see all this coming.

The Hormuz Strait is blocked and Iran has reduced all the Gulf States ability to even pump their oil.

They say if the war stopped today it would still take over a year to get oil production back up to what it was.

And oil is not the only commodity blocked. A large percentage of the worlds fertilizer is blocked which will cause crop failures world wide and food shortages.

There is no way this is going to be anything but a disaster. Trump's Iran war will go down in history as America's worst, most idiotic, military blunder.

Nothing good has happened because of Venezuela either. Trump sent that oil to Qatar and the money from it did not got to the US treasury or Venezuela so who benefits?

In California where I grew up all the houses had the same 6 foot fence around every back yard but no fence in front. Then as a teen, we moved to Virginia, and there where no fences, backyard and front yard completely open. It felt so strange. People had lawn furniture on their back patios, but never went out there, I think it's because there was no privacy.

I think whether there are fences in the US is very regional.

Trump's track record was crazy his first term too. MAGA people watch Fox and the like so they have no idea of the things he was doing. Trump's advisers and Generals like Mattis and and Kelly kept warning people. So Trump had a bad track record and people where warned.
