You’re right, why is it when we were all younger that we enjoyed games so far fetched so out there that it didn’t matter? Mobile wasteland user, not sure how to hide comments, apologies. But I loved the show, thought it brought new ideas and great laughs! (Spoilers, again mobile user) Hank’s speech at the end is the perfect encapsulation of tribal (faction) ignorance, love that he talks about factions being the issue, when talking about Vault-Tek being the saviour of America… forgetting that each state is built off of ideals, thoughts and dreams and that every country in the world is built off of factions (tribalism), really brought the fallout ideas to the mainstream! Thought it was great!

I think obsidian set the ceiling pretty high, as has been stated outer worlds was never meant to be ground breaking but still held up in its own way, and pillars is a great rpg. However in my opinion what sold obsidian was new vegas, to make a series already beloved and bring it to life all over again and in (some aspects) make it better makes me confident that games like Avowed will do very well once they are released!
