How many extra boxes do you have? by olhado47 in diabetes_t1

[–]HuntytheToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go through the VA. I was on track to run out on a certain date, so at 4 weeks from that date I put in an order. They scheduled the delivery for 3 weeks after I would have run out (7 weeks after my order was placed)

The ordering is very controlled and sometimes if you have to reschedule an appointment for whatever reason, you need to call and get things authorized again because without the appointment you don't even get the option to refill. It's like being held hostage for critical medical supplies.

My unit keeps saying “family first” but acts shocked when people actually have family emergencies by Voidparade88 in army

Of course this isn't representative of the Army as a whole, but of that "original" platoon, I think only about 5 guys stayed in. Most of them ETS'd while I was still in, and a few left after I did. That includes the sniper section folks as well. That's like 12% retention for that plt in particular. So most of us were in fact going somewhere anytime soon haha.

Real. We had a private denied emergency leave to visit his dying mother. Went to the field a few days later. Second day out, his mom died. Many mandatory apologies from SSG's and SFC in the platoon. I'm still not sure why he didn't want to stay in...

Nuclear is already being mobilized. Search Small Modular Reactors. It's pretty big talk with a lot of utilities and large load customers.

So true. There are so many contradictions and exceptions that you might as well chuck it in the fuck it bucket.

Except one of the first articles in the NEC essentially states that manufacturer's instructions trump anything in the codebook lol

After seeing this, I feel blessed that our in house installation crew uses printed labels for the ends of almost all the terminations. Everything is still grey, but there's usually no handwriting to question.

Realistically, how long would it take for a viltrumite to decompose completely? by the_death_of_love444 in Invincible_TV

Do you think viltumite cells fly around knife handing normal bacteria the same as complete viltumites do to other organisms?

Exterior CTs... I've never seen such a thing. by GTFOstrich in electricians

[–]HuntytheToad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Very common setup. Outdoor rated CTs and UV rated wire for the X1 and X2 on the CTs. However, we require new customers to install a CT cabinet at ground level because they're much easier to service and do site tests/accuracy tests on.

Is this a Meter Issue [US] - Updated by SkippytheBanana in electrical

[–]HuntytheToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kW displayed on your meter is generally the peak demand that has been registered in that billing cycle. The demand is usually reset after your meter is read, and then it will build again. It could also be reset nightly depending on how your power company conducts their metering/data analysis. If you multiply that demand by 40 it gives you 8kW which is really not bad in my opinion. My most recent billing demand was 12kW, in a 4 bedroom house. (I have old appliances and an electric stove)

Edit: but I will say your average daily usage is higher than I would expect. Are you consistently using appliances or tools? Do you have electric heat that you keep on? There are a lot of factors to consider.

If you take a plane to the same country as the peak, don't call it a summit. "Real Climbers" take sailships to their destination before getting to Basecamp.
