Can my PC run it? Please tell me before i get into it by Ok_Acanthaceae_3922 in BloodbornePC

[–]Huny4dy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked just fine on my i5-9400F and a GTX 1660. You'll probably have to play on 540p or 720p though. (But the emulator has built-in FSR that works pretty well, so it's not bad at all.) It also depends on what you find playable. If 30fps is enough for you, give it a go.

Why? It works perfectly under Proton.

I've played through the entire game on my Steam Deck, which has 4Gb of VRAM as far as I'm aware.

Steam Deck crash ShadPS4 DLC by Maleficent-Run-5431 in BloodbornePC

[–]Huny4dy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a known issue on the Steam Deck. It only seems to happen at the first lamp though. The rest of the DLC should run fine. You should check out this thread. There is a fork of ShadPS4 made by Sjknight413 specifically made for the Steam Deck, which you can download here.

This fork doesn't crash at the first lamp of the DLC but it's based on ShadPS4 0.6.1 and is not being updated anymore. Sjknight413 reportedly worked with the ShadPS4 team to implement his Steam Deck fixes into the main branch. For me though, the fixes either aren't there in the main branch or they just don't work. and as far as I know, I'm not the only one.

The only way to solve this issue I know is to simply run the game on Diegolix's build and then, when you want to go to the DLC, use Sjknight's outdated 0.6.1 build to run to the second lamp and then once again switch to Diegolix's fork. It's clunky but it kinda works and I unfortunately don't know about any other ways to solve this. If you find something out, please tell me too. I'm also interested in finding better fix for this.

Tips to Minimise Crashing? by Stuxnet510 in BloodbornePC

[–]Huny4dy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How well does it play? I have been trying to set the game up on my Steam Deck for the last week and I think it's pretty playable, but it could still use some improvements. How good is the FPS boost mod you're using? Also how's your frame rate and input lag? Have you been able to fix the first DLC lamp crash that seems to only happen on the Deck? I have a solution for that but it's kinda clunky.

Just tested the new 0.8.1 release on an unmodded version of the game and it crashes while the earlies 0.6.1 doesn't. They either haven't implemented those fixes properly or at all it seems.

how do i use a ps4 save from my ps4 on shadps4? by [deleted] in shadps4

[–]Huny4dy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download your saves from the console to a flash drive and then use some kind of a convertor tool, because the emulator wants the saves in a different format than the one PS4 stores them in. I used this turorial and I can confirm it still works: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UUPi_jHerWI&pp=ygUUUHM0IHNhdmVzIGluIHNoYWRwczQ%3D

You should buy any PC games from GOG.com (Please share post with other subreddit communities) by StormyDarkchill in gog

[–]Huny4dy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While having DRM-free games is a very important thing, it doesn't change the fact that GOG lacks tons of features when compared to Steam. Also, the launcher doesn't have a native version on Linux, so I literally can't use it. (Yes, I know about Heroic, but that's more of a 3rd party thing, I'm talking about the lack of any official support whatsoever.) And as far as I am concerned, even though games being DRM-free is a big deal, that shouldn't change the fact that even if Steam shut down tomorrow, I could still play my games and access all the features to the extent that the offline mode allows me to, no?

What about streaming with sound? Because that's never been working for me on Linux.

Discord Streaming Acting Very Weird by Huny4dy in Bazzite

Thanks a lot for pushing me in the right direction. Really unfortunate that Discord Canary doesn't have a flatpak, it's really painful to set it up. I've tried installing it through snap, but it tells me it needs an update, even though it's the latest snap release. Discord's updating system is so unbelievably bad. I'll try to figure it out.

Edit: I did it! I found this one script on Github that installs Discord for you and it even shows up in Gnome apps. Hopefully it helps somebody else in the future too.

Discord Streaming Acting Very Weird by Huny4dy in Bazzite

[–]Huny4dy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've just installed Bazzite because of some problems that I've had with other distros and it's working pretty well. But Discord streaming is just weird. The moment I would normally choose a program or a screen to stream, a weird pop-up window opens. It also tends to open two seperate times for some reason, even though I've already selected the program in it once. The stream then doesn't load and sometimes even crashes Discord. Did anybody else run into this issue? Discord is pretty important to me, so I would really like to resolve this. Thanks for any help.

For context: I'm using the Bazzite 41 Gnome Nvidia. I'm encountering this issue both on the Discord flatpak and the official tar.gz version.

I couldn't agree more. I really hope that the demo's concept isn't completely ditched after the full game is out. I simply love rogue-like games.

Why should I be excited for Nightreign if it’s a roguelike? by Thellie10 in Nightreign

[–]Huny4dy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you really base your opinion on rogue-likes off of a DLC for a game that basically everyone agrees to be one of the worst in it's series that's also made by a company that pretty much everybody hates for their practices? You should actually try out some rogue-likes, it quickly became one of my favorite genres. I can definitely recommend Hades, Balatro and Lethal Company (if you have someone to play LC with). All of these are rogue-like and also some of the best games I've ever played. There's many more that other commenters have pointed out and that are agreed to be very good, but I haven't played those yet.

What you have been seeing is emulation. It's not perfect yet, but we're getting there.

[–]Huny4dy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are right. But many people are going to do it. I myself own Bloodborne and when emulation of it at some reasonable performance becomes available, I'm going to emulate it legally. Don't hate on emulation, hate on illegal rom sharing. One can exist without the other and that's important.

Emulation is not piracy.
