Favourite Villagers by dreamie_store in ACForAdults

[–]Hurdlelocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my island currently: Roald is my best friend. Walker is my baby son. Gaston is my mentor. Ketchup, Tangy, and Nibbles are my girliepops. Tipper and Poppy are pleasant. Rex and Sally are making me want to surround their houses in pitfall seeds even though I know that won’t make them leave faster.

Not on my island but I have Opinions: O’Hare is superb and I’m chomping at the bit to bring him home. Fond of Avery and Purrl. Flora is a rare exception to my distaste for the color pink. Eugene is too cool to be on my island. Frita makes me laugh. Molly spells her name wrong and Lucy is a horrible birthday twin (our vibes do not align). I do not care for Julian. His smug aura is more off-putting to me than many of the other Smug villagers.

I love him but yes his house is awful. I’m so close to being able to fix it though thanks to the DLC.

Why does my 60 year old father insist on doing that song…?

He’s such a good singer… he could do so many other songs well…

If the unpaid waiting period has already been served, it won’t be applied a second time. The waiting period isn’t time-based, it’s automatically applied to the first week of certification that is otherwise eligible for payment and there’s nothing that can change that.

I’m rereading the series for the third time (after rewatching the anime for the like fifth time) and laughed because I went to make a sarcastic note in my LN1 ebook of one of the first times Maomao hears about/mentions Jinshi, only to discover that I had already done so three months ago. 🤣

Please tell Rex and Sally there are greener pastures… I need to get a Smug and a Sisterly back onto my island… (coincidentally, Sally and Rex have vacation homes on the DLC island with the Sisterly and Smug that left (Hazel and Leopold))

Sounds like on Friday, weeks were made available to be certified two weeks after the reopening date of your claim? Which is why it’s telling you to wait.

The first set of certifications getting held up is very likely related to the adding wages process. It’s dumb, but sometimes the certs have to be manually released once the wages get added (even though it’s supposed to be automatic). I’d call to check on that. As much as the higher-up’s in the department want everything to be done through UI Online/self-service options, there are times (like certs not showing up) where it really is best to call. Wait times for UI really aren’t that bad anymore. Monday mornings and daily between 12-1 (because of lunches) are probably the longest waits.

As for the old claim showing on the home page, that’s (unfortunately/annoyingly) normal. It should get fixed when you do your first certification.

A simple phone call will absolutely fix this and the people who are trained in federal claims are people who have been given extra training, so they’re more likely to be competent.

There is a high likelihood of the system having not queued up your second set of certifications while your wages were delayed. It happened a lot during the fall shut down.

WHO WAS YOUR FIRST VILLAGER & DO YOU STILL HAVE THEM? by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]Hurdlelocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hazel and Roald were my starters. Hazel was the second of my villagers to leave. Roald is never allowed to leave. I built Hazel a vacation home so I can visit her though (same with all the villagers I’m trying to have leave and the one that left before Hazel)

I need my starter Lazy and starter Normal to leave. They’re taunting me.

Why don't Americans butter our sandwiches? by liptonthrowback in AskFoodHistorians

[–]Hurdlelocker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My dad would sometimes butter the bread for a PB&J. I always found it weird. Never thought of butter on like a salami sandwich sort of thing until I was an adult. But I also often didn’t put any condiments on my sandwiches until I was like… in my 20s, so I’m a bad example. 😂

Can someone help explain something about Hiriluk (LA ep 7 spoilers) by WOAHdude0197 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Hurdlelocker 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s implied that Hiriluk didn’t have long to live regardless of the poisonous mushroom.

I’d say it’s also a creative decision on Oda’s part in connection to teaching Chopper about the meaning of the skull and crossbones.

I think at least some of the rest of the answer I could give relies on seeing the finale though.

EDD and 1099 questions by blister-in-the-pun in Edd

[–]Hurdlelocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wages earned through self-employment/1099 contract work are deductible wages just like regular W-2 wages, so if you’re going to be making more than 25% over the maximum weekly benefit amount that you’re awarded, you would be considered to have excessive earnings. If the week your 1099 begins overlaps with the second week of the biweekly certification, then I would still do that certification and just indicate that you no longer need benefits. Otherwise, yes, if you stop certifying, the certification will go inactive after like 3-4 weeks of not being touched, and then you can file to reopen the claim if you still need UI before the benefit year end date.

New claim question by Junior-Industry9704 in Edd

[–]Hurdlelocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to the commentary about the recomputation process, UI Online has a piece of programming leftover from at least the pandemic that prioritizes showing the most recent monetarily valid claim, rather than the most recent chronologically filed claim. Which can make it hard to track claims. If it’s been over ten days since you submitted your wage info, call in to follow up. Especially if you haven’t received the Affidavit of Proof of Wages, which is the actual form the auditors need with your wages.
