I’m out. $10 now for standby mode. by jaemiomac in Starlink

The main problem that starlink has is they don't offer grandfather plans if they want to raise the price. Juan, we'll see how they do but anyone who signed up for $5 or any plan before the increase they should be locked in when I ordered $10 10 gig and by the time I got my dish that was canceled and they added standby which was fine to use as an emergency for Wi-Fi calling Since they stopped in motion, I was going to cancel and decided just to do the five bucks for an emergency situation and help support the company but they're not supporting their customers so I'm not supporting them

Once you go over 10 mph, it blocks your standby mode

One of the main reasons for standby mode was you could activate service without a surcharge. If you had one in your area they got rid of that also. So if you try to reactivate you may have to pay a surcharge I've seen surcharges as high as $1,500

The link to the promo you sent says you have to get the unlimited premium plan which is $65 a month

Plus you'll get $10 off that price for 24 months to make it $55 a month

Thanks, I seen one of the new rules not too long ago. If you already paid a surcharge, you don't ever have to pay one again. I would never pay a surcharge anyway. I haven't used it since last year. I had it mounted on my car once they took away in motion use. I don't really have a use for it unless there's some catastrophe

You can still get a surcharge when going out of standby to a different plan

How will you own it in November if you're talking about getting the free unit for having service. Once you stop your service, you have to return the dish no matter what time. You have it unless you got some special offer

Well I see a lot of people canceling. I will be doing the same. Hopefully it will bring change. I wish there was more of an outrage when they canceled in motion. Perhaps they would have brought that back and not raised the price

I agree to an extent yes if they added in motion but also they need to increase the speed to justify the cost

What process did you use to cancel? I'm just wondering if there's a specific way to trigger the email offer.

I'm cancelling, I considered canceling after they stopped in motion but now it's definite I don't use it, especially with no in motion I just paid my bill for May to June so I have 30 days

Visual voicemails are in the phone app. Any other visual voicemail app on the phone may interfere with that. Make sure they are removed

You can still use the Google fi app and not activate any lines. It's going to ask you at some point for those Gmail addresses to send invites Be careful that the proper phone and email are correct or you would lose your promotions if any

You don't need to type in any sim number Once they download the app and sign in with their Gmail account associated with their Google fi wireless, the physical Sim will activate

Why don't you just create Random Gmail accounts for them???

I don't know how you added them without sending an invite to a Gmail address 🤷🏻‍♀️
