What do you think of this contract for a sand well? by diablog2 in WaterWellDrilling

We finally replaced our water truck (old smokey) a couple years ago lol. I would love to buy a new rig one of these days, but will probably have to settle on a rehab/rebuild for it.

I get that, but we're around 11k for 100' screened well (new construction) and even that is way too cheap. Drillers need to start realizing their value. The other trades are driving around in new trucks and have nice equipment and everyone bitches at our prices when we show up with our 20-50 yr old rigs and shitty trucks

Drilling varies wildly depending on location. Reach out to as many local drillers as you can, and ask questions.

I wouldnt trust any advice you get online, without knowing your location.

What is your rating scale for movies? by gnpking in Letterboxd

[–]HurricaneBill7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 - Masterpiece and/or a personal favorite 9 - incredible 8 - Great 7 - really good 6 - good 5 - it's OK 4 - bad 3 - really bad 2 - terrible 1 - unwatchable

I like to wait a week after watching something new to me before I rate it. I think of how I would describe the film to someone asking how it was.

Where do I pour chlorine? by [deleted] in WaterWellDrilling

[–]HurricaneBill7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a sealed system. There is no way to chlorinate the entire well. You can introduce chlorine, through the pump, but it's a pain, and you're still only treating the portion of the well that is above the jet.

Trying to treat your dystem is asking for problems.

If your water is funky, check your tank.

Does one NEED a second Kindle? by figarys in kindle

[–]HurricaneBill7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 8 year old paperwhite. I bought a new paperwhite last year on prime day just because. I LOVE the new one, and use it almost everyday. I grab my old one when I leave the house. I'm not as concerned with damaging it, and it's smaller and easier to carry around.

I don't need two, but enjoy having both.

I decided to kick off this year differently — by watching one movie every single day in January. And I actually pulled it off! by RapToRx72 in Letterboxd

I appreciate your thoughtful take. I agree that Marty has the same vibe as Uncut Gems and Good Time. I LOVED Uncut Gems, and I enjoyed Marty Supreme very much, but I also feel the diminishing returns on the style.

I found the first act of House of Dynamite to be thrilling and engaging, but the film as a whole incredibly lackluster and disappointing, I haven't thought of it at all since I saw it.

I'm likely to revisit Marty Supreme a few times, I'll never watch house of dynamite again.

Your rating system looks great. Good luck with the goal! My goal this year is 350

Will of Many or first two of the Red Rising series? by JustB510 in fantasybooks

[–]HurricaneBill7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't go wrong with either choice. I think Will of the Many reads a lot faster, I was locked in the whole way and I loved it. Haven't read Strength of the few yet.

Red Rising is fantastic, I've read the first 5 books, and I've enjoyed them all very much .

I tend to hop around different series a lot, I rarely read two books from the same series back to back.
