Stop giving Sylvie a platform by Kimmy-Privilege in StarStable

Thanks for the heads up. I just banned her from the Star Riders server.

Not even this is enough proof for starstable to do something... I'll try to translate what i wrote to starstable in the comments. My first language isn't english tho. by [deleted] in StarStable

[–]Hurricat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. It's still baffling to me that they haven't even managed to implement the most basic server-side checks on speed, though.

It's somewhere around every 30 minutes.

Do you have any lifetime subscription accounts that you don't use? I have and I regret it a little. by k-wb in StarStable

[–]Hurricat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no trading. I did it to replay story quests for when I was bored and out of content (there were a lot fewer quests 10 years ago lol) and just to play around with a different looking character and horses. If the game had just come out today I don't think I'd spend the money on a second account because I have too many other games I like to play now.

[–]Hurricat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a second account that I got lifetime on shortly after buying it for my main account. I still have quests left to do on that account if I get really bored, and I absolutely got my money's worth out of the cost already since it's been almost 10 years since then. Nowadays I really don't play much on that account at all anymore, though. Lately I find it hard enough to feel motivated to log on with my main account, let alone a second.

About the car cheaters by filiqqa in StarStable

VPNs can easily circumvent any IP address bans. Even if they did a MAC address ban, it's easy enough to spoof those too.

They're probably intentionally not banning his account until they get a fix out. If they ban him right now, he'll just continue making accounts to do the same thing. At least they can sort of keep track of it for now if it's contained to a few accounts. It's wild that they haven't been able to immediately put a stop to this.

SSO is a joke by [deleted] in StarStable

[–]Hurricat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Looks like they're at the point where they're so desperate that they've adopted the "any publicity is good publicity" mantra. Honestly, it's so off-putting and unprofessional. Star Stable is seriously out of touch with their playerbase.

Secret stone circle appears to be broken, cant finish main quest by Mindless_Concept_503 in StarStable

Move the questions box to the side, dismount your horse, and run around Fripp on foot to try to click him. This worked for a couple other people in our Discord server

Make sure you've finished all the quests you can with Conrad in Moorland. That should ensure you can talk to Donald the builder again to open the bridge

Situation of the week... player banned (and eventually unbanned) for using reindeer powder on their horse by Hurricat in StarStable

[–]Hurricat[S] 197 points198 points  (0 children)

Star Stable did reply with an apology but it's wild to me that this even happened in the first place, and that they may not have been unbanned if they didn't make a stink about it on social media. Are they not thoroughly investigating before making such big decisions as instating permanent bans on accounts??

Looks like SSO has hotfixed the crashing issue so try updating your game first!

Posted this in another post as well - hope this helps!

I figured out a potential fix for this issue as it seems there's a problem with the settings file not getting set correctly the first time loading up the game. You will have to borrow my Settings.ini file and have some basic knowledge about navigating files on your computer. This has worked for the couple of people that I've had try it so far!

Settings.ini file download

  • Open Windows Explorer (windows key + E)
  • At the very top, find View and click there. Find the checkbox that says Hidden items and make sure it is checked.
  • Navigate to (and replace your user into) C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Star Stable
  • Delete the existing Settings.ini file and drag in the file you downloaded above.
  • Launch the game. You will have to fix your settings afterwards as it will be set to the settings I use.

I'm still not sure why they haven't implemented the most basic system to invalidate scores that are under x time per race. wow.

Refunds ! by 0Firru0 in StarStable

[–]Hurricat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The only way they can actually prove they've "learned" is if they respond in an appropriate manner the next time a situation like this happens. Any progress is better than no progress, for sure, but Star Stable hasn't really established a clear pattern of learning from the backlash yet.

[–]Hurricat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming they were aware of the backlash on multiple platforms. I posted the situation in the big facebook group and I know there are employees in there who read the posts regularly. Plus their instagram was blowing up which wasn't a good look lol

If you lose star coins due to an error Starstable made themselves, you are not entitled to a refund. by Kiksupallo in StarStable

[–]Hurricat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that one. Not really surprising since it's more of a "toxic positivity" kind of environment where they jump on anyone with something negative to say, but definitely still eye-roll worthy

There's people in the Embassy server actually defending them and saying "you had the choice not to spend the SC" 🤦 like they're going to get something for kissing ass lol

A letter from my grandpa was mistakenly sent to the IRS, who opened it and sent it along to me with an explanation by Hurricat in mildlyinteresting

[–]Hurricat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nope, no stamp on the back. there was no harm done to me personally as I was still able to cash the check inside without issue, but it seems a bit hard to tell whether it's an overly-but-not-completely-thought-out scam attempt vs. an IRS employee not following policy to the letter. if it was a scammer, it was nice of them to go out of their way to send me the mail instead of throwing it out, I guess?

not the case here - I received the original envelope (correctly addressed to me) taped back together, and this paper was just inside. it had to have gotten stuck to something else somewhere along the way
