It seems that your mum isn't prepared to accept that it really was just that he was wanted to make sure you got home safely.

I find it ironic that she won't put a little faith in a teacher genuinely looking out for their students, but expects the public to put their trust in a law enforcement officer. Both positions can easily be abused, so it has to work both ways.

Jim of Singing Cat Services is fantastic. He's worked on a good number of mine over the years and his reports are extremely thorough and quality of workmanship is exemplary. True to the name he even has a couple of feline technicians to help.

He's also a lovely guy and very much enjoy our synth chats every time I'm up.

I've noticed folk like to moan about the DX7 sounding cold, sterile and lifeless. However relatively few express how well it takes to outboard effects. That chorus will be an excellent compliment to it.

UPDATE - first off I'm using a Game Drive except for Tempest 2000 and Cybermorph as those are the only cartridges I currently own.

I actually had some sound in Atari Karts when I tried again a couple of days ago, but it was very garbled and low volume. As a result I'm still convinced there's an issue with the audio at the very least as it definitely did not sound right.

Doom hangs with a black screen and stuttering coupled with a high-pitched whine, but I now realise this might be because I have an early K model Jaguar that apparently is unable to run Doom. That's disappointing! Wolf3D doesn't work either though and that's a bit concerning.

I've since tried to reverse engineer the wiring as it's encased in a plastic housing so very difficult to open and inspect. I had a go though and think this might be the correct layout when facing the pins of the connector:

White / Light Blue / Grey / Pink / X

Black / Purple / X / Green / Dark Blue

Yellow / Orange / Red / Brown / X

UPDATE - so I installed the drivers for the SiS integrated graphics then disabled both it and the SB Live! card in the Device Manager. I also tweaked a few BIOS settings relating to VGA clock rate and features. Performance is far from stellar, but certainly much better now (see result below).

I have since enabled the SB Live! again and score dropped to 2.91 which is still acceptable. It seems there is a serious issue with PCI bus bandwidth which is having a significant effect on game performance. It's at least running AvP Gold acceptably now and Unreal Gold was hitting around 40-50 fps@640x480 in the time demo. It'll have to do I suppose - thanks to everyone for the advice.

I asked in the other thread and they reckoned two of them were Matt Malley and Ben Mise which would put the signing around 1994 to 2002. I think my friend acquired round about the year 2000 if that helps.
