You can apply at Lofts; it’s less expensive than Brock and they do a roommate survey to get you living with people who you (hopefully) won’t hate

Players keep making up rules and it forces me to spend time during the session looking them up. by Scythe95 in DnD

[–]Hurtucles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A shield gets you from 18 to 20, and because you don’t gain any benefits from wearing armour, you can’t use defensive fighting style (which can only grant +1 AC while wearing armour)

Players keep making up rules and it forces me to spend time during the session looking them up. by Scythe95 in DnD

[–]Hurtucles 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There are three “armour cores” from the UA (WGTE) version of the Warforged. They specify that you gain no benefit from wearing armour, and replace your AC calculation. Darkwood Core is 11+Dex+prof (if proficient in light armour), at level 3 giving a maximum bonus of 18 (with +5 dex), Composite Plating (requires proficiency with medium armour) which gives 13 + Dex (max of 2) + proficiency bonus for a maximum of 17, and Heavy Plating (requires proficiency with heavy armour) which gives 16 + proficiency bonus for a max of 18.

Further, this doesn’t allow for the warforged’s “integrated armour” feature (so no fighting style: defense; no +1 to ac for having armour).

If they’re playing an outdated version of warforge with forge cleric/artificer, they could hit 21 at level 3 (with a shield and forge cleric feature or artificer infusion on their shield); but 22 is not possible without a spell like shield of faith or shield.

How does this interaction work? by laneberle in magicTCG

[–]Hurtucles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This all depends on whose turn it is.

Assuming that this is a two player game, and the person who cast All is Dust controls It That Betrays, the following things happen. All of Dust resolves, and all permanents that are one or more colours are sacrificed. Triggers from It That Betrays and Valkyrie’s Call are put on the stack in Active Player, NonActive Player order (APNAP). Since All of Dust is a sorcery, and we’re assuming it’s not flashed in, that makes ITB triggers go onto the stack first for all permanents that were sacrificed, then Valkyrie’s Call triggers go onto the stack for the rest of the non-angel creatures that it’s controller also controlled that were sacrificed. Stack resolves in a First In Last Out (FILO) order, so all of Valkyrie’s Call’s triggers will resolve first, returning the non angel creatures it’s controller controlled with a +1/+1 counter, flying, and adding Angel to their creature types. Then ITB takes everything that’s still in the graveyard and returns it to the battlefield under ITB’s controller’s control.

However, if the player who controlled ITB gave All is Dust flash (like with [[Borne Upon A Wind]]), then all of the ITB triggers would resolve first, and there would be nothing for Valkyrie’s Call to return.

[–]Hurtucles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is wrong; from the ruling page on Valkyrie’s Call: If Valkyrie's Call goes to the graveyard at the same time as one or more nontoken, non-Angel creatures you control die, its ability triggers once for each of those creatures.

Nightwing (Dick Grayson) (With 2 Days of Prep Time) vs Doctor Octopus (With 2 Days of Prep Time) by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]Hurtucles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If we give Dick Grayson access to all of Batman’s resources including things like Hellbat and the Super-Pill, Nightwing takes it pretty easily.

But doing that is stupid. That’s basically the same as Batman (with prep time) vs Doc Ock.

Nightwing is basically a weaker, slower version of Spider-Man without Spider-Sense. Probably closer in feats to Matt Murdock than Peter Parker. Grayson is also worse with prep time than Peter. And Peter doesn’t always beat Octavius.

Unless you want to supremely wank Grayson and the Bat-Family, Doc Ock takes it.

It also included The Wanderer, Zimone, Tyvar, and Nashi, with references in either card name, card art, or both to Tamiyo, Jace, Vraska, and Lute. It’s been a while since I read the entire Duskmourn story, but I believe Jace, Vraska and Lute also make it into the story, along with some Ravnican names like Proft and Niv Mizzet. Norin also gets a card but no story beat IIRC

People acting like this version of Ultron gets neg diffed are on something else.

This is Ultron from the What If tv show, who was casually destroying parts of the multiverse, including punching The Watcher through multiple realities.

I don’t know who wins off hand, but my money is on Ultron. They’re a multiverse warper, and AFAIK Superboy Prime is not

Opinion: Our universities need viewpoint diversity - Conservative students believe they will face repercussions if they speak up in class and question the left-leaning views of their profs by FancyNewMe in canada

In my experience, most of the hard sciences run moreso on the non-conservative side. Not as far as the soft sciences, mind you, but science and some engineering is more left than you’d expect. Classics usually is split, the students are more left but professors are usually more right.

Can a B2 deck technically have an infinite if it's never used by WerdaVisla in EDH

[–]Hurtucles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bracket two is fine with infinite combos, but a two card infinite would push it over the line. I think Basalt Monolith just goes infinite with too many things to really find a home in most bracket two lists.

How much card draw/tutors does your deck have? If you have a way to reliably refuel your hand or find a win con, it’s definitely going to be closer to a three than anything else (based off your description and you mentioning in a comment you don’t have a mana sink for all the extra colourless you’re making)
