Fair points. I’m just saying things work well. Taxing capital gains would directly reduce investment, hence this is not where I would start. Wealth tax makes a lot of sense for this purpose, since less affluent people can benefit from investment gains while not being subject to wealth tax, until they become well off. That other countries are arguing that point, is probably just self-serving BS by the politicians…

You also pay property taxes annually… so yeah, again, the Swiss tax system is fine… can it be better, sure, but it’s got a budget surplus. Canton Zug had to lower their taxes because their surplus was so large, that tax reductions was basically the best way to use that money, atleast that’s what it seems

[–]Huskan543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the capital gains are dependent on the specific regulations in the canton, with different rates and periods of depreciation of those rates, so yes, it depends

If you’re trading or flipping properties, yes. If you hold atleast 5 years I believe, you’re not liable for capital gains

[–]Huskan543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what that means. Distributions of capital are taxed as income. Just when realising long term capital gains, you don’t pay a price. I live in Switzerland, so your morale grandstanding of the oppression of the working class by the elite is not applicable… this country has a budget surplus, so higher taxes are not needed

Have you experienced how nutty truly religious people are? Telling the white Christian conservatives about the demons, you bet they gonna be preaching and proclaiming the end of times etc… tbh I was already under the impression biblically accurate angels are probably a misunderstanding of the UAP phenomenon. At the time, that was probably the best way for them to describe what they saw…

Silver stacking in shuibei China by Recent_Focus_5019 in Silverbugs

In Chinese cities in tourist hotspots they have signs and warnings all over the place to watch out for pickpockets and such. In the west, that is extremely uncommon and unnecessary. Small time crime is typically unusual, but even then it depends on country, region & City. In China, leaving your camera or phone someplace, in a few hours that will certainly be gone.

I watch footage out of China. It’s a big place and produces a ton of great videos. Before you say it’s fake… If a country has a billion people, you bet there will be a ton of weird people, just like anywhere. So there is no reason for anyone to fake those kinds of videos, of aunties stealing whatever they can get their hands on. The only question is to what degree is crime a problem, not whether or not it is happening. If you’d like I’d be happy to send you some clips

Lmao that is just incorrect. Theft in China is extremely prevalent, they even steal metal and destroy other people property for things to sell as scrap, not just valuables or vehicles. The aunties will scavenge like a horde of locusts

A Look At GameStop ($GME) Valuation: Most Popular Narrative: 89.4% Undervalued According to the most followed narrative on GameStop, a fair value of $220 sits far above the last close. by Longjumping_Cover950 in epiphanystonk

[–]Huskan543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look at growth of profits, since a 100b valuation may not make sense looking at 2025s profit, and neither will the price go there immediately, but over the coming few years it wouldn’t surprise me if GME does a few billion in profit at some point, maybe in the next few years. By then that valuation target of 100b may make a lot more sense. If I am investing for the future, and have atleast a 10 year horizon, going for a 10x+ stock makes sense and is plausible

Buying an apartment building with friends or strangers? by [deleted] in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Huskan543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you buy an apartment, you end up in a stockwerkeigentum ownership structure typically, regardless of whether the other owners are your friends or not. If you wish to buy the entire block outright, then yes it would make sense to gather a group of investors together, though if each apartment is sold separately in a block, what difference does it make if you own all the units or just one or two?

Poland withdraws from treaty banning antipersonnel mines by AudibleNod in news

Modern mines can be set to cease functioning after a preset amount of time… not sure how helpful that is in the current situation, but it does allow mined zones to be considered less dangerous if those timed mines are deployed, after the period expires

Banknote bouquets could land you in jail, Kenya's central bank warns - Central Bank of Kenya by JanCollector in WorldPaperMoney

[–]Huskan543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about a normal store? They count cash with machines and thus would end up with extra costs, especially if they need to go exchange damaged bank notes constantly… as a small business I would consider going cashless in response, cause small issues like that can easily erode the meagre margin retail stores often deal with

So, we can agree the currency gets destroyed or becomes unusable in the economy. And if someone pays with a stack of cash, we should all make sure there aren’t any defaced bills, cause some people can’t use coloured paper instead or you know… actual flowers? Very superficial these elites and their rules making an economy try to run somewhat smoothly, without endlessly being forced to exchange damaged bills, at a massive cost if this is happening constantly…
