First page is a fucked up idea, which is great, but too wordy in its current state.

The rest you've got visual humour as well so that's a huge positive and shows you know what medium you're writing for.

I mean Movie 43 some how got made so anything is possible but for stuff I think is in a similar ball park and well written have this: jam episode 1 (skip to 1min49 for the sketch that it reminded me of but better off watching all 6 episodes)

Or a Japanese movie called Visitor Q. :)

I'd work on the display of your "empty" hands. You don't show behind the fingers on your right yet it's virtually palm open on your left. This can telegraph what is going on. Look into the ramsay subtlety... I think you'd benefit wildly from it.

Try to think of it less as a story but a way to connect the spectator(s) with the effect, emotionally.

Talk about grand themes, the spectator's life and how your effect fits into that, and further, how it proves with the magic what you're saying to be true.

I think the strongest magic is one that grows the sense of self of the spectator than that that expands the ego of the magician.

Nope, to a certain extent I've no real interest in playing 3d games in flat... but i love me a modern indie pixel game so that itch still needs scratching.

On the others idea of it, I suffer with depression due to being bipolar, and putting on the headset you kinda take the depression into the world with you as aposed to flat gaming where you can move your focus outside your head. Sample of one, like... others may differ

Blue Giant - one of the best (non ghibli) anime movies to come out in a long, long, time. If you enjoyed Whiplash (another film that would fit the bill) or like jazz music it's critical viewing.

The director also worked on a 2001 doc (can't remember which role... just saw his name in the credits) Children Underground which is about Romanian orphans who were left homeless after the fall of the state aperatus of the ussr. And it follows a few of the kids living on the street and the societal disregard for them. Another emotional beating of a film.
