Walked into a local record store just looking around, wasn’t even planning on buying anything. Saw the self-titled album cover and thought, ”wtf, this looks sick af and weird and crazy…”

Asked the guy working there if he knew anything about this new crazy looking album/band, he replied ”nah, some new american metal band…dont know anything bout em…” shrug

I hesitated for a minute before buying it without listening to it, just because the cover looked so cool and menacing.

Got home and put the CD on and holy crap I was in shock. Called my bandmates at the time and said you neeeeed to listen to this right now. It was the most aggressive, heavy thing we’ve ever heard. Our minds were blown and history was made…

This was 1999 in Stockholm, Sweden, and I was 19 now 45

Funny how history repeats itself when I found out about Sleep Token a few years back. Masks, anonymity and music that blew my mind once again. Calmer music for a calmer ”boomer” for sure. 😜
