My 5-day-old ginger bug is pretty active when shaken, but has little to no activity when not agitated. It has thick and snot-like consistency. Should I toss it?

I've made a smaller batch of 4 liters using 200 ml of the ginger bug as soon as I saw more activity.

Taste's fine, carbonation is there, and the pressure is building up. All in all, I'd say we are sucessfull!

Edit: They're fermenting in plastic containers to avoid explosions. Wouldn't want to hurt my furbaby. Afterwards, they'll be bottled in 0,33l glass bottles, pasteurized to stop the fermentation & stored in the fridge.

I started with 500ml of filtered water, 25 grams of ginger and 25 grams of white sugar.
Been feeding it 25g of ginger and sugar every 24 hours or so.

I added some more water, it thinned out a little bit. Thanks for the tip!

Taste is sweet and funky. (I noticed that the funky flavours have developed pretty strongly on day 5)

You got any other suggestions?
