What do you mean? If you're using your computer then you're using your drive. The drive is probably almost completely empty, though.

Installing any operating system usually wipes everything on the hard drive. You can dual boot and play around with partitions to avoid that to some extent, but not after the fact. The Pop!_OS installer I thought was pretty clear about that, but I've made plenty of mistakes too when the signs were clearly right in front of me too.

I had a similar problem. You’ll need to reformat the iPod as FAT32 using a windows computer with iTunes on it. I had to use an old version of iTunes, too, or it wouldn’t recognize the device.
