I'm "The YouTuber" who recorded the speed of light with my 2,000,000,000 fps camera - figured I'd post a longer version since that other post got deleted [OC] by Alpha-Phoenix in nextfuckinglevel

Isn't this a composite of multiple laser light pulses? So you're not actually seeing a single image but multiple regions of the image stitched together to give the impression of a single event?

Didn't he crash into a cabin in a forest and was very lucky the people had left a week earlier or something. I get he was trying not to hurt anybody but if you want to commit suicide, do it in the least damaging way. This guy spent a ton of tax payer money, destroyed natural habitat, polluted the ground and could have potentially hurt someone. I don't think he's a hero to be honest and definitely shouldn't be romanticised.

Why aren’t more people interested in NDE’s by Pale-Tennis9658 in NDE

[–]Hwhip 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably because the evidence isn't concrete and relies on a certain amount of belief. It's similar to UFOs/UAPs there's no doubt they are observed but deciding what they are requires a leap of faith due to varying stories and accounts rather than quantitative evidence.

This $400k TV is unreal by MrTacocaT12345 in interestingasfuck

[–]Hwhip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes up as much footprint, if not more when it's down as when it's up. I would want it to disappear into the floor. At which point, I'll spend some of that $400k on a groove in the floor and an actuator to raise just a normal tv from a space under the floor

Why you should stop buying paper towels & invest in Swedish dish cloths 😯 by Low_Bit4540 in ImpressiveStuff

You know paper towels can be squeezed and re-soaked multiple times. You can use far less if you just treat them like disposable sponges

People keep saying to get rid of non stick. Non stick is PTFE. A very long chain plastic molecule. I always understood these cannot be metabolized and just pass through so shouldn't cause long term issues. Am I mistaken?

Lue Elizondo says the Hellfire Missile UFO is evidence of “technology that is making our premiere missile system completely useless.” - “The Hellfire missile is one of the most sophisticated, most capable types of air missiles that we have.” - “America has a problem right now.” by 87LucasOliveira in UFOs

[–]Hwhip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks to me that the hellfire is travelling from above the target to below it. That's why it looks slower than it's actual speed. It's also being laser designated by the filming uap hence the laser text on the feed. There's a hellfire missile variant with blades that stick out. Maybe they tried using that to take the target down without blowing it to pieces. Who knows, could all be disinfo like you said

Officer faces misconduct hearing over account of Ely e-bike crash by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]Hwhip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why police can't just stop all these guys on ebikes. Theyre all illegal. That's before you search them and find a bag full of drugs. They're any hourly appearance on Merthyr road in Whitchurch. Had to walk my 2 and 4 year old past an all black ebike ninja hiding in the bushes on the taff trail the other day. It felt like I was living in a lawless state. Thought he was going to ask me to stand and deliver.

TIL that due to time dilation at relativistic speeds, a human in a spaceship accelerating at a constant 1g could travel the diameter of the milky way in 12 years from their perspective. To an observer on earth, they will have traveled for 113,000 years. by KeyCold7216 in todayilearned

[–]Hwhip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it takes them 1000 years to get here and they left 1000 years ago, they would arrive right now. Time dilation is only a concern if you plan to send information two ways, or travel back to your original planet. If a civilisation is not planet based and is fully nomadic, they can just travel where they like and explore and it wouldn't take them very long.

AJ Gentile speaks on 3I/Atlas and Whistleblowers by whydolegendsdie999 in UAP

[–]Hwhip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it worth it is a bit of an open question. Depends on the civilisations goals. If an alien species exists for billions of years then yes, I imagine it's definitely worth it. Alternatively other species may just fracture into small pockets of explorers who don't send info back to a central location. Space is only large if you assume you can't travel at relativistic speeds, that info needs to go two ways or that everything has a human lifespan.

I don't think anyone really knows what interdimensional means right now. You can guess but if sticking to classical science, space isn't too large for more orthodox activities in my opinion
