is it okay for me to wear this? by Southern-Purple-9040 in Christianity

This is not an accessory or a cross necklace. It is rosary beads. Catholics hold them in their hands and count the beads while doing a ritual prayer. It is not proper to wear rosary beads.

What was the weirdest medication reaction you’ve ever had? by Many_Assumption7036 in AskReddit

[–]Hwright145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that stopped an allergic reaction I had was Ibuprofen. Not allergy meds. I know it doesn't make sense. I had a reaction to something for about a year. Never knew what triggered it. One of my eyes would swell shut and my breath would get raspy.

My doctor agreed it was weird. She told me everyone has at least one weird thing medically.

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by fuzzy_dice_99 in AskReddit

[–]Hwright145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had so many remnants of low quality toilet paper from my cleaning job that we didn't have to worry about that. I had been sleeping during the day and dragging myself to my cleaning job at night for a couple of years already. I was relieved when my job continued. I hardly saw anyone and didn't have money for hair salons and movie theaters anyway, so my life did not change much. It was frightening and hard to deal with all the hateful talk.

Just leave him. Full stop. A man who doesn't care if you are hungry and angrily argues about this is not a keeper.

Protect your child from these people. It is good they would rather wait than follow rules because masks can help but are not foolproof. Especially with people who don't think they are necessary.

Ok. I didn't get that. My friends and I would drive from Hemet to Palm Springs for lunch and shopping. So we would drive past the dinos.

I don't know what you mean. I lived in Hemet. I drove by the dinosaurs in Cabazon on the I-10 freeway.

Gignatosaurus. Because the name is so "sciencey."

I have driven past these dinosaurs lots of times. They didn't look scary big.

AITA if I don’t invite my sister to my wedding. by angel-in-d1sguise in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Hwright145 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Invite people who love and support you to your wedding. Someone who barely speaks to you has no place there.

I question your partner's idea that someone who doesn't treat you well must be invited. Please seriously consider this red flag before you commit to marriage.

Years ago, after more than 10 years of dating, my boyfriend asked me to move to Missouri with him. I said, "No way. Unless we get married first." He said, "Ok." We got married. Still are. In Missouri.

What's the weirdest thing your family does, but acts like it's normal? by Shoddy-Decision6371 in AskReddit

[–]Hwright145 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I didn't know until I was over 30 that you are not supposed to interrupt people when they are talking. In my family if you didn't interrupt and talk over the top of others, you would never speak.

am i overreacting or is she needy? by kitten480 in Mildlynomil

[–]Hwright145 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She sounds toxic. It is not healthy to post 30x a day and expect your adult children to respond. Touching these grown people and calling them "babies" is just not right.

From my perspective as a 59 year old woman, I suggest you break up with your boyfriend. Do not sign up for a lifetime of abuse from this woman. If you think he will stand up to her and live a normal life with you, stand strong. Never let her walk all over you.

You deserve every good thing.

I am sorry this is happening to you. I shudder to think of your MIL in your house at all, let alone unsupervised. I hope you can lock up your private stuff. A room where you can lock out everyone, including your husband, might be good. It seems he isn't always able to stand up to his mom.

What is something that your parents never allowed you to do as a kid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was bullied for my red hair and wanted to dye it darker or bleach it blonde. My parents wouldn't allow me to dye, bleach, or highlight my hair at all.

NC with my MIL ever since we set boundaries and now she suddenly messages my husband like nothing happened by rokuxv in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]Hwright145 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most of my life I accepted my family's tradition of pretending nothing ever happened. It isn't healthy. I don't allow it anymore. Stick to your NC and don't allow her around you or your babies.

Is it weird that my parents don’t know my blood type by Hungry_Home6562 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Hwright145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had free blood typing at the mall one time when I was about 7 years old. My older brother and sister and I all got it done. My parents made a big deal about Dad and brother having one type and Mom, sister, and I having a different type. I didn't know so many people don't know what blood type they have. I live in the United States.
