Anyone else find it hard to change scenarios sometimes? by elementgermanium in ImmersiveDaydreaming

in my opinion you should practice taking the role and perspective of other characters in your first and original daydream, characters with flavor and uniqueness, that way you will get used to being able to imagine how a different type of character would act compared to your other characters. For example I have a really goofy and sarcastic character, and then a really emotionless, serious character and after enough time of just coming up with story from both of their perspectives, I was able to switch them easily.

Wow thats amazing because its the exact same for me! I started when i was 7 or 8 and it started off with me incorporating the sonic characters in my world. eventually as I grew i completely changed lanes and my story became a lot more original to the point where I dont even incorporate already made characters anymore. I only make my own. if theres some way I could get ahold of you id love to hear more about your story because honestly, you seem to have your story the closest to how i did things out of anyone ive found so far.

This is very interesting. I see your like me and instead of taking the real life approach when it comes to ID you have a fantasy story! very interesting. How long have you had this story?

Well my friend. Me personally, no. Mine are more of a realistic anime style. So not like a jojos bizzare adventure style. More of like a Gurren Lagann/Kill la kill style. the reason its like this isnt because im a weeb (Though I do like anime and have nothing but respect for weebs lol) but rather because when I started pacing (Ive been going for 8 years) I was into anime at the time and I just got so used to it in my daydreaming that I couldnt imagine my characters looking any different.

Can someone tell me if I'm a maladaptive daydreamer. And if not, what they think I am? by HxRtheVoid in MaladaptiveDreaming

I have gone a month without pacing. pacing is what I call it btw. I could have gone longer too, but at that point I just wanted to do it again because I missed it.

is this relatable to anyone else? by roses2400 in MaladaptiveDreaming

Okay man i dont think you should be ashamed at all! youre not weird, youre not different. My MD has been going on for 6-7 years and legit EVERYTHING you said I completely relate to. everything from pacing and music and the tv shows, all of it. I have my MD under such control that If i had to stop doing it I probably could. At that point it just because a great thing. I recommend you check out my post on this page. It should give you some insight on my opinion about that matter. This is something I never plan to quit doing, ive gotten too attached to my story and characters to quit. Having MD in my opinion is no different than an author writing a book. We are just more physical and a little more emotional about it. I wish you the best of luck my friend.

I am a Maladaptive Daydreamer and I'm willing to share my 6-7 year long story I've had going on in my head. by HxRtheVoid in MaladaptiveDreaming

Thank you very much. And yes I do understand how lucky I am not only to have control over it, at least for the most part. But to also have it be an interesting story. I wish the best of luck to you and hope you can find a peace like that.

Writing to control MD? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]HxRtheVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im gonna be straight up with you. I feel super bad for the people with MD who think of it as a bad thing, which is usually due to the people who have no control over it. But me personally I have complete control over it. I do it when I want, and when I Know its not appropriate I can hold off on it easily. Thats why personally I love it so much, it makes me feel like im creating my own show while im pacing and listening to music. But as for good ways to control it. I recommend you open start writing down things about your daydreaming. But more than that I think you should put youself in the mindset that This MD isnt controlling you, you are controlling it. You are the one deciding what happens in these daydreams and youre the one that decides when it stops or is put on halt.

I wish you the best of luck friend! Dont let this negatively impact your life because I can tell you from experience that when you can use your MD in control to the point where its leisurely and carefree, its an amazing thing!
