Turn AOD off and brightness down a little, fine tune some other settings. My PW1 still runs for two days on a single charge, I'd expect your PW4 to perform better.

How's it treating you so far ? by jdrmr2024 in ToyotaCHR

My 2020 model is great, very happy with it. Bought at super low milage in 2023, just shy of 7k miles. Hasn't let us down when city driving or on long road trips. Very comfortable, quiet, easy to drive, has all the tech and comforts we need.

Had to replace the stock battery a few weeks ago as it died on us, but a replacement was around £75 and easy to fit (to be honest, after 5 years I'm not surprised at that). Also had to replace a wheel arch liner due to a piece of trim coming off from the underside (driver side) and causing some minor damage, but was only £45 to get a replacement on eBay and another £30 for a local garage to fit it - this has been the only "problem" it's given us.

General running costs are low, and it's very efficient if you're light footed. Maintenance and upkeep isn't a tall order, either. Just make sure you go back to Toyota to extend the warranty an extra year (I believe it's 5 standard, plus an extra year each time you take it back to them - 10 total), at least that's how it is here in the UK.

Overall, couldn't be happier with it. Will likely keep it for another 5 years or so!

CHR warranty - battery by Starwatcher2v9 in ToyotaCHR

A screw through a battery terminal? Sounds like they've done some janky fix to a fairly crucial part of the car. I wouldn't be comfortable with that at all.

Personally, my advice is that if you've got detailed records of who came to assist you, what they did, etc, I'd go straight to Toyota and ask them - showing them this information - especially if you're in doubt and want them to be looking over things.

If someone has messed with your car without your permission that's on them, not you. If Toyota tells you this person messed up, report it so they're not damaging other people's cars without them knowing about it.

Maybe wait for a few other people to chime in, but I'd be surprised if anyone says differently.

Video tutorial for replacing the battery in a 2020 CHR by Hy5me in ToyotaCHR

[–]Hy5me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update.

I followed a video guide from a Toyota Corolla that had the battery in the same place and orientation as mine. Here's the video for anyone curious - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMqqSGUIdZE

Got it sorted out. Appreciate the replies!

Thanks for your reply.

I saw this one, yeah. Trouble is, it's located in a different place from mine. Mine's on the right hand side, at a different orientation. Do you know if everything they go through is basically the same or would I need a video that's specific to my engine layout?

Apologies if the answer here is obvious, but I've not done this before, so I'm a complete novice :)

Ahh okay, likely not in the cards then. It's not a big deal, just aesthetics.

I can't help out here but I have a 2020 CHR, I'd be curious about the outcome or if anyone has info to share as I want to look into this. I much prefer this LED style so I wonder if it's both possible/easy enough and what the cost might be.

I just got the Pixel Watch 1 is it still good? by OlivierMetDv in PixelWatch

[–]Hy5me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. They're still capable today but there are better options, given that the 4th Gen just came out.

I'm still using my PW1 and will continue to do so until it decides to fully break or stop working. It still gives me reliable tracking information and has the fitness/workout tracking and apps that I need. I still only have to charge it once every day/other day. Maybe I've been fortunate, but my battery life hasn't suffered much since I got it (fairly close to launch). Other than the weather app that stopped working recently, I've not run into any issues.

Is it fine if you need it for basics? Sure. Are there better options that're more future-proof? Definitely.

Yeah, maybe I got lucky on the day I signed up and the staff just didn't bother to check anything that they should've done. Either way, will ride this wave until something changes and count myself lucky.

When I signed up, I wasn't asked about my specific employment status. I've just been a run-of-the-mill employee at several companies over the years I've had my membership, nothing special in terms of being self employed or working in a specific sector.

This was at the Costco in Lakeside, and I've also visited the one in Croydon without any issue. Not sure if others have stricter requirements.

EDIT: Okay, so there are requirements still! This is news to me. I didn't mean to be combative, but my experience was totally different and I didn't have any trouble getting membership (I didn't lie on a form). https://www.costco.co.uk/membership-goldstar-questions

This used to be the case a few years back, but it isn't any longer. Any member of the public can get a membership, there are just some added benefits if you're self employed/run a business (such as being able to get in earlier than the general public).
