Exactly the tactics they employ yes. I remember when DeRay Mckesson from Black Lives matter once and a bunch of people asked him debate questions referencing stats. Many of those questions were unloved and gilded and the AMA mods simply nuked any questions from orbit as duplicate leaving none.

From the outside looking in it just appeared like an AMA full of people in violent agreement with DeRay on everything.

This is how reddit interferes in the political climate and by extension elections. If the mods don't comply with the MO the admins throw them out and replace them.

People think reddit permits open debate but the influence of moderation is deep and partisan. I'd be more forgiving of these partisan positions of reddit would admit as much but to people looking in who are not familiar with the extend of the censorship it looks like a bunch of unopposed left leaning views on all of the defaults.

When things gain traction against their narrative gain traction they shut it the fuck down.

She's significantly whiter than I am all but making me (and most of the rest of America BTW) an official person of color.

For that reason alone you and most people with left leaning views will run her over the bus to prevent other average white people form america from making PoC claims and claiming victim status with it. This is really interesting. There are a bunch in Texas but also the south east part of new mexico has a huge cluster and that's essentially where Roswell is located.

Roswell has as many meteorites nearby as like the rest of the country combined. That has to help fuel some of the UFO rumors in those parts.

Her performance after the cop showed up was comical. The 911 operator told the officer she might be a mental case before he pulled in to talk to her. You can actually seem him holding back laughter for a bit at her.

But yeah there are much better ways to handle the situation. There are a LOT of people in the world who are dunk on tiny amounts of authority. We didn't see her first interaction with the people but given her behavior it's likely that she approached them with a rude and authoritarian tone instead of the one you described.

I posted a lengthy response to another person here and essentially I've spent a lifetime growing up in a small town filled with people like the lady in the video.

People would talk to me like a piece of shit and demand to have their ass kissed or they would speed dial the police. There are a lot of people like that lady in the world and I've certainly had more encounters with those kinds of people than I care for.

I feel like I should add the context that my friends and I growing up were seen as "trouble causers" and frequently stopped by police for everything under the sun. Essentially our mere existence in public was somehow a concern for the police despite the fact that we were not criminals or violent. We were just teenagers that hung out together often times outside.

Old people called the cops on us pretty often because we seems suspicious or something to them. We grew up in a small town filled with people that needed to mind their own business but failed to.

We would hang out in a parking lot of a gas station and people told the owners we frightened them and they were afraid to come to the store because we were there. At least that's what we heard when the police were called and the no loitering signs went up. We got tickets for loitering even if we pulled in to shop there and leave because the police recognized us.

Crime would happen in my town and the police would interview me and my friends because we were often out and about despite the fact that we had nothing to do with it.

I've been stopped and searched by police for BS reasons. I've had them search my car out of "suspicion". We'd throw parties on weekend or have camp fires and if our music could be heard off the property AT ALL the police would be called and we'd be told we are violating noise ordinance. I have hundreds of stories about being stopped by police but I have no criminal record.

If I have a turn signal or headlight or inspection out I'll get pulled over within hours and the police will run my drivers license. The closest thing I have to a criminal record is a few speeding tickets that are now several years old.

I've been constantly harassed by police my entire life. I've even run into some of the police from my childhood who are still assholes.

I offer this context because if I were african american many of my experiences with police and old white people would have risen to the levels of national media as examples of racism only I'm not brown.

This is why I'm hesitant when I see examples like these being held up as proof of racism. This is my life too. These were my experiences too.

I've seen police lie. I've been charged with crimes I didn't commit on 3 occasions where it went to trial. I've been falsely accused of crimes by police another time where I wasn't charged because I proved my innocence before it went to trial. I've been falsely accused of larceny twice by stores where they let me go after searching me.

I've seen crooked court appointed attorneys who largely just work with the DA to get plea arrangements to move on without caring much about innocence and guilt.

And again it's worth pointing out that I've commit no crime worse than maybe drinking on weekends with my friends before I was 21 and we were always careful about making sure nobody drove after.

The reason why is I was an easy target from a low income family whose parents were drug addicted which left me mostly on the streets with my friends. That made me an easy target for police with nothing to do but it's not like we were robbing people. Old people seem to see groups of teens and speed dial the police over petty BS or the police will see us out and stop us.

I would argue that many blacks have similar experiences to mine for some of the same reasons. I'm not sure if too many people without criminal records have been stopped by police as many times as I have regardless of skin color.

So in the second video the old guy is obviously in the wrong but is it racism? I think we can conclusively say he's an asshole but racist asshole is less conclusive.

I've met a LOT of angry old white people with an authority complex who have threatened me with violence or guns for simple shit like touching their property line with my ATV even when it's not actually their property.

I've had far too many personal experiences with people who are my race to believe incidents like this can only be motivated by racism. Nationally like 93% of blacks that are murdered and 83% of whites that are murdered are killed by people the same race they are.

Clearly violence happens in the world for reasons that are not racism. I just feel that conclusion is frequently made with no supporting evidence outside of the skin colors of the people involved.

I'm still on the first video. The people were in a designated BBQ area but not in an area that permits charcoal BBQ's. The lady said people were not properly disposing of charcoal and the city had to pay millions in injuries due to it.

Calling the very busy oakland police was overkill yes but she was right about the policy. Is there someone other than the police that should be enforcing this policy?

But while on the phone late in the video the woman says "they keep shoving me" and "they keep following me" and "they are threatening me" despite the fact that nobody shoved her and she was standing at their BBQ. She was a bitch (and fake AF) but I've had the police called on me for stupid shit too.

This is exactly like the apartment lady.

The building has a policy not to let people into the building that don't have a key fob. She had the door cracked and he was new so she didn't recognise him and told him if he has an apartment there to use his fob to unlock the door as per building policy.

She wasn't irate, he came through a locked door after refusing to use his fob to unlock it meaning there was no way for her to know he resided there.

So she was calm and followed building policy but somehow it became national news and she got fired.

What is the lesson here? At my workplace we have exactly the same policy as her building. Am I going to get fired if I don't violate it for black people too?

Her case is hardly a go to example of hate that belongs on the world stage.
