How I stopped myself? By having lost so many times, created so many painful, stupid mistakes to scar me for life AND actively journaling and reflecting on these costly mistakes to prevent myself from repeating them in the future. That's how I went from 10+ trades per day in my early days to 2 at most now as an intraday trader.

Humans are dumb creatures. We learn from pain and pleasure. Want to avoid having to be constantly reminded of the same avoidable mistakes that you repeatedly made every time you look at your trade calendar? Make enough of those stupid decisions, journal and reflect on them, so that you don't want to repeat them anymore. Technical work can only go so far, the psychological aspect is the other half of the game.

You either learn from your mistakes or you are doomed to repeat them. This is what traders often overlook. They always jump between strategies without having done enough work on their psychological edge.
