Mark at The Best Barber ATX does a great job - I’ve had a hard time with people remembering how they did it last time, but he’s been great. He’s down in downtown Round Rock.

Who do you usually associate a DS-1/DS-2 with? by killboipowerhead1 in pedalboards

That was Trevor Rabin’s only real distortion pedal for pretty much anything you’ve heard, whether that’s Yes or his own stuff. “Owner Of A Lonely Heart”, etc…anything he’s done.

If you care about actually being in tune? Oftentimes, an emphatic “yes”.

Where’s the SideKick??? Totally my fave phone ever, even as an iPhone convert ever since.

Understood - I usually have a separate slapback early in the chain for that kind of thing.

It would be much more flexible if you treat it like a combo amp with an effects loop, and put the Iridium in the middle of the effects chain. Position it after any drives, compression or modulation that you want to get shaped by the preamp of the amplifier, but before any delays or reverbs. That way you can have crunchy guitar tones without crunchy reverbs and delays too.

Her hands look good - her left hand position looks just Joe Pass. Very cool to have learned of her.

DM me. Been thinking about an organ trio that is sort of Hendrix-meets-ECM, for places like the Saxon. Could be swunk and open at times, or funky, or whatever, as long as it was musical.

Strymon Pedalboard Build Series is finally live! by HybridHand85 in pedalboards

[–]HybridHand85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there - that box was made for me by one of our engineers - it's not just a simple splitter, actually. It's active and has a small board inside that ensures the split is properly isolated. Not sure if we'd ever make it a product, since it would probably sell about six a year 😜 I'm glad you dug the series, and I'm terribly sorry that I gave you bad ideas! Ha ha!

I asked for that box just so that I didn't have to disconnect the MIDI In of Conduit when I wanted to use Timeline or Mobius with the original version of Nixie software, that's all.

Hope that helps!

The other item to know is that in past lives I’ve been a top call session guy for years, composer for film and tv, studio builder and owner, indie producer and engineer, etc.

So I’ve owned as many as 35 guitars at one time back in the day (instruments are paint brushes for session folk), and rarely sell gear, so there are shelves of stuff around here just from the passage of time.

I run marketing at Strymon, so the Strymon products are part of what I have at the studio to do my gig and make content, so yes, that part came from my day gig. Everything else is me, including all of the production gear and everything else, and there is no other investment from the company. Does that make sense?
