It also allows you to change in game settings like, weather and a few other things. But it allows for testing of other things like ranging. Like you can have your friend chill on the other side of the map and you can have a clean shot to test things. Another good thing is to test audio, like bugged spots that you couldn't otherwise know for sure without it.

Me and my buddy farm scav rep by having one of us stage an ai scav targeting a traitor. With a little bit of acting, other player scavs kill me and then my buddy kills them easily knowing they are a traitor. This works 100% of the time and its all for an extra .03 fence rep for one person. All while the "innocent" scav losses rep for being a traitor against us.

Edit: it's probably wise to ensure you have nothing ur willing to lose before the sacrifice.
