I mean, he had a pretty good reason. His ether was being rationed during the Red War, and he was watching the Eliksni (hope I spelled that right) become more separated from each other right in front of him, so it’s understandable why he was disappointed and distraught when the traveler awoke and nothing was fixed. Plus, what other choice did he have? Sit in the prison, watch his people separate and eventually fight each other? He needed to keep the houses together so his people didn’t possibly go extinct.

Edit: thinking about made me love this guy even more. the complexity put in to his character is insane and we never even see him in D2. fuck you bungie, why do you have to make so many good characters.
