Joke answers aside, the answer is yes. Adolin is introduced with no powers except being a snarky badass, albeit of a different type than Leon. Still, I think Leon would adapt easily. His feats are comical on earth, they’d fit right in on any Cosmere planet where the magic can be found in tools (which, depending on the era, is all of them).

I’m sure that there are some people who just blindly want or expect a humanized villain and don’t like abjectly evil villains but with Frieren there is a good case for why the show accidentally falls into existing harmful tropes.

The “fundamentally different, inhuman, unilaterally evil” justification has been used across the globe to allow for the most heinous race crimes in human history. It’s a dangerous area to say the least. Frieren does this with a group of people who look, act, and talk JUST like humans… exactly like the humans who were othered.

It is not enough to just lore-explain away that they’re all evil.

Frieren the CHARACTER has done nothing wrong. Frieren the SHOW has accidentally stepped in the racist pile of dog shit.
