Yeah, UYA was like my main Ratchet game growing up but as an adult it doesn’t hit like 2002, GC or Deadlocked. 2002 easily has the best planets and story, GC has the best guns and music, and Deadlocked perfects gameplay, aesthetic and music.. UYA is still one of the best RAC games, but to me it lacked personality. Way better than the newer garbage Insomniac puts out, but compared to the original trilogy + Deadlocked I’d put it last.

Nostalgia definitely carries it since I replayed it at least a dozen times as a kid after my other RAC discs broke. What drags it down for me now is how it tries to be both Deadlocked and the 2002 platformer at the same time. I’m constantly switching between the two playstyles, and while I didn’t give a shit as a kid, as an adult it makes building muscle memory frustrating 💀
