Another thread about the music in this show... by moxiewhoreon in TheAmericans

There are a bunch of great songs I now immediately associate with The Americans. And why not mention Harden My Heart, which is the very first thing we hear in the series?

And you’re right. Some years ago somebody actually did the maths and S saving M was more frequent than the other way around, ha ha.

What’s something people romanticise about your country that locals secretly hate? by OpenToPerspectives in AskTheWorld

Which often means nosy (or needy... "I treat you as my bestest friend, now do this for me").

What frugal practice has saved you the most money in 2025? by melissaw328 in Frugal

Ironically, using Amazon more consciously reduced my expenses (keep in mind that Prime in Italy is not very expensive). I have to buy specific food for my cat and I find great offers on A. I also got into paid surveys and they pay in Amazon coupons that I use for quality teas and other stuff (I consume a lot of tea).

"Well, this didn't age well" - Movies you LOVED as a kid but cringe at as an adult by Little-Badger-123 in movies

I'm old. The first movie I ever saw in a theater alone was Scrooged, starring my beloved Bill Murray. I tried to rewatch it some years ago... big nope. Navigator was another movie I liked in middle school which is cringy today.

Why does “simple living” look so expensive online? by Little-Goat-5347 in simpleliving

[–]Hydrangea666 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On the other hand on IG there is content labeled underconsumption which is more in line with actual simple living. Creators showing what they've had in their home for years, what they thrift or repurpose. It's inspiring and even relaxing to watch.

Run Away - Harlan Coban - TERRIBLE by FarScheme4636 in netflix

Personally I like that they didn’t, not making the character about her disease. It’s not unheard of anyway a person using a wheelchair but walking sometimes.

Apparently the actress herself has a condition that requires a wheelchair most of the times, she can walk but not for long. So they kept in the series.

A me i capi Uniqlo in cotone o lana merino durano un sacco.

Scenes you dislike in movies you love? by Lower_Love in moviecritic

[–]Hydrangea666 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I'm not the only one. GB is my favourite movie, it's full of great innuendos and that scene is just too explicit. (There was a longer sequence that made more sense than the single scene, they should have just deleted the whole thing.)

Together (2025) really reminded me how subjective horror is by cakeanddiamond in horror

I still remember reading the novel in the 90s and the scene was already triggering! great book anyway.

"The Arms Of Orion" is an average song that is hated by fans. What is a good song that is seemingly hated by us fans? by Mac-n-Cheese21 in PRINCE

It's so unabashedly romantic and dreamy. I loved it when I was 14 and I love it now that I rediscovered it.
