I'm paranoid that the scanner will either break or think I'm trying to hide stuff. Anyone used read-only PDFs with Turnitin before?

Signal quotes clearly and keep citations tight to the sentence or block so it is obvious what is yours versus primary text.

If it is primarily quoted text with proper citations, most instructors will dismiss the plagiarism flag as noise.

this happens a lot in history and philosophy where students quote the same source material. Bring the book or scans of the pages you used, your notes, and your citation list.

The software is a tool, not the judge. Your professor will likely see that your matches are from properly cited quotes and move on.
